I held my nose at the NBC commentary and watched game 6. It actually wasn't too bad (the commentary). I am going to watch game 7.
Love that maniac-in-a-bottle Mike Emerick.

Yeah, for a wuss sport. When was the last time you saw Wade spitting teeth out in the 3d quarter and winning the game in the 4th?

Oh, God, yes. We're talking about a totally outrageous paradigm.

Excuse me, but "proactive" and "paradigm"? Aren't these just buzzwords that dumb people use to sound important? Not that I'm accusing you of anything like that.

I'm not sure spitting out teeth is proof of the wusiness of the sport, or more proof of the idiocy of its players in not sufficiently protecting themselves.

Otherwise a nut-ripping contest (cf. Ultimate Fighting Championships) would be at zero on the wussiness scale with all sports paling in comparison.

Still, if that is the case, it is inexcusable not knowing who on the field already has a yellow.
Admittedly, I was a few pints in already, but I dont' remember the ref pulling out a yellow card for Pope. I was, in fact, confused about why it wasn't a yellow. But then again, I am not all the well versted in soccer rules.

But the fact that Pope is going to miss a game because of those two rather pedestrian fouls seems unjust.

If hockey is so fucking great, why do you spend so much damn time telling everyone how fucking great it is?

Sports & Stuff

As I'm ironically sporting my "worst sports-related present ever received" (a Rams Kurt Warner jersey) today, I thought I'd share a few more sports-related thoughts. In case anyone's keeping track (Hi TM).

I hope tonight's Game 7 goes to lots of overtimes, and I hope lots of people watch. That said, the last NHL game 7 I anticipated this much ended up ended up about 8-0, with Patrick Roy letting in goal after goal.

It's not going to happen, but I think the Raptors should take Tyrus Thomas with the #1 pick. When in doubt, go with the best athlete. Unless he's got character issues or is too stupid to grasp an NBA offense. But not having talked to any of the top players, and seen them play a few times (except for Bargnani), that's my call.

This interleague play stuff is crap. Blue Jays are 0-6. And the fucking Red Sox keep pulling off comebacks. What crap.

If you start talking about the "football pitch," you are going to hear about it from Hank. And not in a nice way. I tell you because I care.

The part about me telling you because I care is a lie.
