Agreed on the pot thing. You need to mellow out, dude. Big time.

They are very organized and neat. I guess you would have to be?

Bad taste?
Not as crazy as the Red Sox dropping $51 mil for the right to spend another $40 mil over 3 years on a pitcher who's never pitched in the majors before.
And I don't want to hear another word from a Boston fan about our crazy spending ever again. Ever.

Come back when they've actually spent the money. They've agreed to pay $51 million if they cut a deal with Scott Boras.

This is funny. The people who are making serious posts in response to the burger buttonee are not funny. Frankly, the responses made me feel like I was on some other board, where people actually care about other people. And that made me sad. Caring is for pussies.
I vote for funny.

I was just making a point that he was unsympathetic not I.
And I know I sound like a jerk but I really am fatigued. you cannot have a convo with anyone here without that seeping into the convo. "Hi how is your day" "well my mom's dying of cancer" I feel like I get hit in the gut.
Lastly, she told me [my friend] that story that way so obviously she feels it....not me. I have no horse in that race I just thought how he reacted was a tad insensitive.

Are you kidding me? Is this a cruel joke to see what it takes to make 30 jaws drop at the same time? You are expressing irritation that someone is causing *you* a little upset by revealing their mother (or someone important) is dying? Really, pp, this is the height of self-absorption, fatigued or no.

Did you see that GOB is in a new movie about going to prison? It looked like a caring, loving relationship could develop between his character and another inmate, but it might also be funny.
Trailer.

OK. My firm has been known (and not in isolated cases) to fire people with terminal diseases for performance. People about to claim maternity leave, too.
O, wait, you said funny.
OK, my dad, a non-lawyer non-asshole sm. businessman, who doesn't provide health insurance for his 7 employees, had a worker who had a stroke. He ended up paying her full salary during her entire recovery, and advancing her funds at no interest to cover her medical bills, and loaning her his lawyer (at his cost) to get whatever she could reimbursed from public programs. (After which he looked into a health plan, and found that his system was cheaper.)
Wait - that's not funny, either. I guess my funny is all busted and won't go. Pass me that fattie that's going around, please.

The image of your avatar drawing on a spleef is funny to me.
Oyster stuffing? eh. No.
By the way I love your posts. They always make me smile and they have a kick to them like hot sauce. But that is the type of humor I favor.

I have trouble keeping track of you people, explain to me again how many of the attorneys in your law firm are willing to work in the same city as you?

Oh, and for Not Bob, Ashley has a movie coming out in the next few days. Dunno if it'll end up in Podunkville, though.
I'll be headed to Happy Feet and the new Bond movie next week.
