Thank you so much. That was the best PM ever. Very nice. And no, I don't think they need to be "a little bigger".

Apropos of nothing, "Thurgreed's Mom" would make a great name for a band.
Oh, and I think it should be "The Spartan," not "the Spartan." Isn't there some rule about when capitalizing the the is appropriate? When, dtb, when?

I'm confused, Fatty Arbuckle. Doesn't "spartan" mean "self-disciplined or self-restrained?"

But you're right. That song and album sucked.

[Nic Harcourt] Rachael Yamagata's going to be playing a really cool show at Cafe du Nord on June 28, presented by KCRW along with The Real Tuesday Weld. Should be really cool. Hope you can join us. [/Nic Harcourt]

Melissa auf der Maur
Prompted by the earlier music discussion, I took a walk to Tower this afternoon, and walked right into Melissa auf der Maur's band setting up for an acoustic set. I then caught about half the set.
The music sounded pretty good. I haven't heard the album yet, but the songs that I heard sounded really good, and probably sound better plugged in with the distortion turned up to 11.
Oh, and Melissa is fucking SMOKING hot.

Ms. Yamagata is now up to #3 with a bullet on my laminated list of hot female Chicago music artists, behind Neko and Liz... Used to sing with a local band here called Bumpus.

Paul's Boutique
I defy anyone not to love "High Plains Drifter" and get a big goofy grin whenever it comes on.
What's better than this?
Read me my rights as if I didn't know this
Threw me in the tank with the drunk called Otis
With his five o' clock shadow he smelled of 3-day old beer
My man turned to me and said why are you here?
I said I'm charming and dashing I'm rental car bashing
Phony paper passing at Nix Check Cashing
Went before the judge he sent me to the Brooklyn House of D.
He said you behave son or we'll throw away the key
Harry Houdini'd out the cuffs I kicked the screw in the knee
Took the bailiff's wallet and went straight to O.T.B.
I had a good feeling easy come easy go
I bet on one horse to win and your mother to show

Remember the work related wedding where I feared I was a bit out of control? The groom is shooting pictures around today. Ouch. In one picture, he claims, it appears as though I am actually giving another associate head on the dance floor. (I have not seen it yet; he is blackmailing me.) Sigh.

Damn. I haven't been reading for a few days and this is one of the first posts I read. My day is shot. I'm going home.

The good news is, said associate is up for partner this year.

Remove the clause "appears as though" from that sentence, and we'll actually have a story...

I am hazy on the end of the night but I know for a fact that this did not happen. Sorry to disappoint.
