Poll: Does this describe you?
Quote:
|
You have a need for other people to like and admire you, and yet you tend to be critical of yourself. While you have some personality weaknesses you are generally able to compensate for them. You have considerable unused capacity that you have not turned to your advantage. Disciplined and self-controlled on the outside, you tend to be worrisome and insecure on the inside. At times you have serious doubts as to whether you have made the right decision or done the right thing. You prefer a certain amount of change and variety and become dissatisfied when hemmed in by restrictions and limitations. You also pride yourself as an independent thinker; and do not accept others' statements without satisfactory proof. But you have found it unwise to be too frank in revealing yourself to others. At times you are extroverted, affable, and sociable, while at other times you are introverted, wary, and reserved. Some of your aspirations tend to be rather unrealistic.

**First movie date was Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

2. And congratulations! We get to share the Forer prize - with everybody!
Quote:
In 1948, psychologist Bertram R. Forer gave a personality test to his students, and then gave them a personality analysis, supposedly based on the test's results. He invited each of them to rate the analysis on a scale of 0 (very poor) to 5 (excellent) as it applied to themselves: the average was 4.26. He then revealed that each student had been given the same analysis:

Forer had assembled this text from horoscopes.

I LOVE Wikipedia. I was led to Forer by this:
Quote:

The Pollyanna principle or Pollyannaism describes the tendency for people to agree with positive statements describing them. It is sometimes called positivity bias. The phenomenon is similar to the Forer effect.

"Hook up" as in "hook up"? No.
"Hook up" as in "let's disengage ourselves from our current relationships and start dating in a couple months"? Yep.

I was not implying that anything improper occurred.
Wink wink, you dirty, downlow, girlfriend-stealing, cheating son-of-a-bitch.*
(*I DO NOT MEAN THIS.)

I don't find it disturbing: I find it proof of why no one should believe in astrology, cold readings, psychics, etc.

I swear, Less, John Edward told me things that only Grandma could have known! I am serious! It was eerie! Normally I don't believe in this kind of thing, you know me, I'm a skeptic, but there was definitely something spiritual going on!

What I am surprised about is the fact that they kept it secret. Why? He's been sponging off of her for years, it only makes sense that he would impregnate her - to keep his status as lapdog.

Yes, actually I would be surprised if this turns out to be true. Other than the fact that he sounded incredibly high during his Larry King interview, he dodged the questions about any dna testing on the kid. Plus the photographer out there who is claiming that the kid is his and not howie k's. Then of course, there is the whole issue of him selling some photos of Daniel that were taken right before he died. I guess I don't find the guy all that credible.
As for why they kept the relationship secret, wasn't Anna his client? At least that is how they portrayed themselves to the world, through the fat Anna days. Didn't he have an ethical obligation not to be banging her and not have a relationship with her, other than an atty-client one?
