That was needless and baseless and definitive of who you are.

It wasn't a "status change".
It was a lie.

Is this right? I thought that aspirin works because acetylsalicylic acid (ASA) binds to an enzyme called cylooxygenase-2 in cells. This is produced in large quantities in cells that are damaged and cause pain. Without the presence of ASA this enzyme makes chemicals called prostaglandins, which send messages to the brain that part of the body is in pain. They also cause the area that has been damaged to release fluid from the blood so that it will swell up or inflame. This protects the damaged cells from further damage by creating a cushion. When aspirin is taken the enzyme is no longer able to make prostaglandins and some of the pain messages don’t get sent to the brain, so we feel less pain. Also the areas don’t inflame as much and inflammation is reduced.
But maybe I just made that up.

But this was quoted on another board as being from the Mercury News . . .
quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dida is a Brazilian goalkeeper who has been playing in Italy for . . . too long, obviously, since he has picked up the Italian soccer trait of diving like Greg Louganis.
The AC Milan keeper was suspended for two games for pretending to be injured after a Celtic fan ran onto the field and bumped him during a game in Scotland. Dida was carried off on a stretcher and replaced - which struck officials as a bit strange because he had initially chased the fan before remembering he was "hurt."
"It seems to us a very, very unbalanced sentence," an AC Milan lawyer said. "It turns Dida into the protagonist of the incident, whereas the protagonist was someone else, and that's not right from a logical point of view."
Then the lawyer fainted, left his office on a stretcher, hopped off, got some magic spray and immediately returned to lawyering.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And this is for the art lovers:

Did FIFA then fine the lawyer?

Maybe so, but that's not what you tell a three year old.

No. Players are supposed to maintain a certain minimum level of decorum, integrity and sportsmanship. Italian lawyers can do pretty much whatever the hell they want, except piss off Berlusconi.

I am impressed by my hangover's double-barrelled last name. Because I think a nice long lie-down with the shades drawn and a cup of tea would totally be a good idea for me right now.

I don't drink tea. I'm tannic-intolerant.
