This is a stumper. One one hand, she did about 50 movies, was voted the XRCO Favorite Female of 1993, and she seemed to show up on every compilation tape I bought for awhile. On the other hand (because using the left hand is like a different woman), she does not seem to have created lasting fan appeal in the form of websites or galleries listed on porn link sites. I would have rated her about a 7.5 in the 1-10 world of porn stars, so maybe she is destined to be mostly forgotten.

Is there a rule about how many names you can piss on? My sister has claimed a whole bunch of names (even though she's not married). At least a few of them hold some appeal for my potential kids down the road.

Effectively, yes. No one has tried to claim more than a couple, and we're all married. Of course, my siblings are all pretty reasonable people, so YMMV.

I think that today's marketing of porn and porn stars is much more influenced by internet exposure than the quality of the actor/actress. In the old days, either you were an absolute "star" (Johnny Holmes, Samantha Foxx, Traci Lords) or you were just another body. Recent movie/studio work has made much out of the internet by plastering porn stars on every possible site known to man. Hence, average ones are recognized easily because they're seen more often.

I will add that Madison is a dark brunette. Porn seems to "be in love" with two things - blondes (usually the platinum type) and exotics (asians with large breasts, in particular).

When you're expecting: (1) Invite her to dinner. (2) Announce the pregnancy. (3) Ask her to be the godmother.* (4) While she's still reeling, tell her that you'd always loved the name Petunia, and that you know she also loves it, too. What a perfect name for her godchild!^

If, after this charade, she still denies you use of the name, cut all ties.

*Or Allah-mother, or Vishnu-mother, or Satan-mother. Whatever works for you and your loved ones.

^See above.

You people know way too much about porn stars. I rarely remember actors' names even from real movies.

Those guys were teased mercilessly and hassled on a daily basis, except for Shannon, who grew into a very very large kid and began doling out punishment on his own.

I think you can be more creative with girls' names, but within reason. If you want to be really creative, save it for their middle name, and let them decide later on what they want to be called. It just seems cruel to burden a kid with a funky name, especially when they are young and don't particularly want to be set apart from the crowd.

Just my $0.02.
Boys names: I thought I had given my son quite a normal name until we walked into pre-k and found three other Jordan's (two girls and two boys total including mine). Not sure if he will take shit for it or not. How the hell was I to know that Jordan is now a girl's name??

Girls names: My parents got a little creative with mine. Of course, it would be "normal" if I were Canadian, male and involved with professional hockey! In the States it is a girl's name but I grew up in a border region and yes I took some shit for having a "boy's" name. Oh yeah, apparently nobody else in the fucking world (boy or girl) spells it the way mine is spelled. Here's looking at ya, mom and dad -- you fucking morons.

Conflict builds character. If your kid can't take it, it doesn't matter what his name is, he can't take it. If they can overcome some childish hazing in school, they'll have the skills to be a well rounded person. You need to prepare them for the inevitable.

Either that or they'll kill everyone they see in a flurry of bullets.

Note to t-fan: don't name your next child Shaquille or Kobe. They're bound to be popular for a while too. Or Lebron.

Although the unisexization of names puzzles me. Went to the christening of a friend's child. Named Tyler. Minister called child him, as one might expect. Tyler is all girl.

Jordan's swung both ways for quite some time now. I had a boy Jordan in my high school class (went by Jordy); my younger sister had a girl Jordan in hers.

Fuck, there goes his middle name too. Looks like I might as well cut off his package and put him in a dress. I guess that shows how out of touch I have been since childhood -- I don't recall ever meeting a girl in my generation named Jordan or Tyler.
