It would almost be worth it to see you falling on a sawdust-covered bar floor several times. Almost.

You mean subjectively, right? Objectively this post is simply redundant.

Uh-oh. The cycle has restarted. First there will be some seemingly innocuous, even moderately serious responses. Then the ever so slightly barbed comments like this. In a few days, Hank will be in full-on Sidd-stalker mode, responding to random posts by random GAs with the suggestion that I'm a slip-and-fall lawyer or that I am trolling high school gyms for dates. The only unknown is whether he'll type the stalker-posts with his right hand or his left.

why does anyone factor practice into a poster's persona? I remember having a really good argument on Politics (old one) and the guy said he had to leave to go to a S&S hearing (search and seizure) and somehow I felt superior since he was doing criminal work. Meanwhile if the guy's arguments were good it shouldn't matter if he were a garbage man should it?

I'm not sure, but you seem to.
I have to wonder, though, why you felt superior to someone doing criminal work. It's a much better way to start your practice -- you have a lot more fun, you go to court constantly, and in two or three years you get a lifetime of stories. Most of the best trial lawyers I know started their careers as criminal lawyers. They may not be as fluent with Lexis as you are, but I think they can pretty easily compensate for that feeling of inadequacy.

I can't do Lexis and what's wrong with pawn shop law, or whatever it was you said I do?
The best nuts and bolts court room guy I know started out doing insurance defense work. The pure criminal people I know stay in it. I don't openly feel superior, but I'm honest with myself that for a moment in that instance I did.
