Maybe heat them on the stove together and then put ice in the inside one? Expands the outside and shrinks the inside. Enough to get them loose if you're lucky. It may help to park them sideways.

That's sorta what they suggest for stuck glasses. Couldn't hurt to try.
Or try holding the pots sideways and kinda banging them on the side on a hard surface and see if that jostles them enough to break the seal that is holding them together.
I thought there would be something on the internet about this but either my search terms were lousy or Google didn't pick anything up.

Anyone know what I can do about having turned the flame on high under a saucepan, thinking it was full of water, and then realizing when I returned 5 min later that there wasn't actually any water in it, and it's kind of partially blackened inside?
It's all-clad stainless MC2 or whatever. So the inside is shiny. Or, was.

What's wrong with steel wool? Or get those SOS pads that are the same thing.

Bartenders Friend. It's in a can like Comet, but it's not Comet. And won't leave those annoying scratches that Burger would have you do.
eta, OK, Barkeepers Friend, but I still think it's Bartender's Friend at home. Or vinegar and baking soda.

I would have to go buy it, and then apply effort. Gawd. Whereas, the discoloration isn't actually hurting me.

Pretty much like Bon Ami? Because I already have that. I tried that on something similar, and it was slooooooow going. Maybe next time I watch a movie I can put down towels and have at it.

Okay. Here's what you do. Go to Amazon. Order the same pan. When it arrives, pitch the old one.

Run them under very hot water or try using oil.

That would be wasteful. The pan is perfectly good; it's just discolored at the top. I don't think that affects the utility.
Yes, Hank, my personal hygeine regime is pretty different from that. Good catch.
