Some people shouldn't become parents. If a person recognizes that about him/herself and avoids parenthood, I respect that a whole lot more than someone who has a child because s/he was trying to live up to someone else's ideal of what a "complete" life is.

It isn't what society dictates to you should be a complete life it is that the feeling of having been enriched by your mate and your kids is a good feeling. Those that shouldn't have kids? Then don't. It's not about pleasing society or pleasing my rigid views of what makes people happy. It is about ironically enough about trying to cut thru the vapid shit like pucci dresses and red hi cuts and getting to what is real.
At the end of the day do I give a fuck that she wants to die alone with cats? I'm very cranky right now. sorry dtb.

I'm pretty sure you do not know what vapid means, but I appreciate that you acknowledge the irony of your critiquing the label-name-dropping tendencies of others. As for the Pucci dress, you know not of what you speak. It is truly something to behold. If I could slim down a bit, I would consider wearing it.

Is English not your first language? 'Cause if not, I will leave you alone. But if it is, you make no fucking sense 50% of the time (and I am talking only about your ability to express an idea, not the logic of the idea expressed).
Hint: at least throw in a random comma or something.

They look terrified. What did you do to force them on to the back of that giant swan?

So of course, we've managed to con each other into seeing a movie that will scare the ever loving shit out of us.
To gear up for the movie we're going to the snake house at the zoo and then we'll head to the multiplex on Sunday. Of course, we're inviting all of our friends.
I don't know if anyone's left in Houston, but if you wanna watch us clinging on to each other for dear life, lemme know and I'll send you the eVite.

If you want to face your fears, I seem to recall that Flower has an anaconda that he might let you wrestle. I know Minn. is a long way to go, but is it too far for your psychological health?

He was terrified in fact, or at least very uncomfortable in the life vest, and Mrs. Str8 was preoccupied trying to get them back on terra firma. Pictures of me and E floating around the lazy river at the MGM are similar.

Heh. Favorite review quote so far:
Quote:
And if these “Snakes” have any box office legs beyond opening Thursday and Friday returns, expect to see the [scary thing 1] + [scary thing 2] formula replicated ad nauseum for the next couple of years.
Personally, I can’t wait for “Spiders on a Clown,” or “Public Speaking in Front of Sharks.”

The copperhead incident happened when I was ten. I was running outside around twilight in bare feet and stepped on one. Fortunately, I felt it and managed to teleport to the porch before it bit me, but I didn't go outside for the rest of the summer.
I've probably encountered a good dozen snakes in the wild since then--all triggering teleportation--but most terrifying was when I was at my family's ranch maybe five few years back. I was in the kitchen, and I looked up to see a seven foot black snake slithering down the kitchen window. I couldn't tell which side of the glass it was on. I screamed like there was no tomorrow and jumped on my mother's back when she came in to see what the ruckus was all about. My dad ran out with a hoe and there are still divot marks on the porch from where he and the snake did battle. Turns out that there was a bird's nest on the ledge above the window and the snake crawled up there to have some lunch.
Friend of mine whose ranch is outside of Dallas heard something during dinner, told his wife not to move, got a gun, and shot a bunch of times under the dinng room table. Killed a rattlesnake and put a lot of holes in his floor.
I'm totally not going to sleep next week.

I have a crippling phobia of snakes. Ugh -- i can't even watch the ads for that movie.
Plus, I fly a lot, and often on red-eyes. I really, really, really do not need to be thinking about snakes on the plane.
I will not be joining you.

I remember visiting friends in NY. I thought they were misguided when I saw them buy 15$ a pound coffe while they lived in rathole, since they couldn't afford more rent. I had no problem with expensive coffee once they had an adequate home.
If I understand PP, she is making a similar point: once you have achieved the husband and children then, and only then, can one devote time to label shopping without being vapid.

Why should I live in a rathole AND drink crap coffee? It's not like the $7/month I would save is going to get me a terraced condo on Central Park West.
