Wow, a lot of names I don't recognize among those remaining, but from what I read the pros saying prior to the tournament, I guess that's really no surprise.

Is poker a sport or a game?

Lunchtime Observations

I have two:
  • 1. I passed a shoe store at lunchtime. The shoe store had a sign cemented onto the side of the building, which boldly proclaimed "Probably the Lowest Prices in the City". Probably? Really going out on a limb there, huh?

    2. A fellow walked by me on the street, and the only thing I could think of when I saw him was, "Aha. This is what they're talking about when they say "pencil-necked geek." This dude had a large-ish head, a thin, but otherwise unremarkable frame, and a neck that looked as though I could snap it in two with only the slightest exertion. It was sort of creepy, actually.

I'm not sure, but I haven't been able to figure that out about bowling, golf, or NASCAR, either.

Same here. Monopoly and jenga too. I suspect that they are all games, but I was curious as to your take.

What is a "not natural-looking" color? Like a Gwen Stefani blonde? Annie Lennox red?

That's a game that quickly turns into a sport.

Dark hair with chunky blond/red highlights. Not as chunky as the chick on The Apprentice or anything, but not like something the sun would do either. Part of the problem was likely that I was going to an Aveda salon and chemicals were probably needed to achieve the look that I wanted. But I would get my color done and within 2/3 weeks, my hair would appear to be all the same color again (and she never effectively did "chunky"*). So why spend $200 for effects that last a week?

Now I'm getting chemicals and my hair is dark brown with chunky blond and red highlights.

*insert fat joke here.

I love how all fireworks stores are the "World's Largest!" Even the ones directly across the street from each other.

My hair cut is significantly cheaper than yours.

Depending upon the participants that's a game that can evolve into a sport.
