Or maybe it was MTV2. Whatever.

No one was as purely awful as some we saw the past two seasons. In fact, all of them were as "good" as people who made the finals. No one really stood out like last year.

Fantasia and Jennifer were really good, but disappointed me. I hadn't remembered Fantasia sounding so much like Macy Gray. Calling her "unique" amused me. Jennifer has a nice tone, but I just expected more.

The chick in pink has to go. She only hit about a third of the notes, and most of those were shaky.

Katie Webber gave her best performance of the competition, so she was very mediocre. Same thing with the very handsome Matt Metzger. Yowzaa.

I fear we will see the triumph of pretty over talented with Matt and Katie getting through.

I wonder if the rest of the groups are as stacked with talent as this one.

Depends on what you mean by "stacked with talent."

Apropos of nothing, I got a very strong Britney Spears vibe from Katie Webber, based on appearance only. Intentional or not?

dtb, I appreciated your comments on the "pimp" post, very much. Last night, in my cups, my appreciation was tempered by reports that students from the school in your old neighborhood have poor reading comprehension skills. In the light of day, i now realize that despite the general failing of your elementary school, you are perhaps the most perceptive of those reading this board, and only your comments really matter.

Then I bet you can't wait for their next video, which will feature a pterodactyl humping their spaceship. Good times.

Only if Britney got a Michael Jackson special discount nose job since I saw her last. I couldn't pay any attention to Katie's song b/c I was so distracted by that thing in the middle of her face.

I agree that Fantasia is a good performer, but way too Macy Gray. While I enjoyed her song last night, I think she needs to change things up a bit if she makes the top 12 b/c I will get bored of her soon.

Matthew was awful. Just awful. I will be pissed if the teenybopper/soccer mom contingent vote him in just b/c he is hot.

I would like to know how limited their song selection is b/c I'm sick of seeing the same damn songs over and over again (Open Arms, Crazy, Something to Talk About, Wind Beneath My Wings). Jesus, don't these people know any songs that haven't been karaoke'd to death?

That said, I would be happy to see Marque and Jennifer move on. Fantasia will get a wildcard spot so I won't be sorry not to see her advance tonight.

New Reality Show- Question for bilmore

You've got to admit this one is worth taking time off from kayaking to watch.........

The wacky short-run series will have 12 female little people contestants competing for the affections of a 4-foot-5 bachelor.

But in the second episode, things take an "Average Joe"-like turn when women of normal stature show up to compete with the vertically challenged contestants.

Visionaire

Has anyone bought or otherwise seen / tried the most recent issue of Visionaire? This issue's theme is Scent, and there are something like 21 scents developed by a perfume company that have been paired with a theme, like Heat or Hunger or Sadness. There's a visual art piece also associated with each scent. I saw the issue at a local museum gift shop, but it was behind glass and I wasn't able to look at it further without drawing undue attention from my intended recipient. I'm thinking about getting it as a gift for someone.

Raining All Over the World

It's been raining non-stop for days: cold and raining.

If I wanted crappy weather like this, I would have moved above the Mason-Dixon.
