Sonny something Steakhouse is the only decent restaurant and it actually is mediocre- why would people stay there? liquor isn't from state stores which is good, but hell other states have that.

Looming crisis in Social Security Trustee Report

That was pretty brave of him, to wait until after his last election to focus on the issue. Let's just say that his political courage has been well remarked-upon by the congressional Republicans whom he's asking to stick their necks out. His road show is still trying to rally these troops.

Now that something is actually being done, and the problem is at least being faced people actually say - well why don't we forget this and focus on a bigger problem.

The White House has conceded that the President's plan, such as it is, doesn't do anything to help the purported crisis. So in that sense, nothing is being done.

To what office had she been elected? Did she take an oath to uphold the constitution?
BTW, didn't we have this debate re Gavin Newsom already?

"would have done." It was uncovered before, instead of after, passage.
Remember, Hank, the early discussions of SocSec reform, when the introduction of private, er, personal accounts would solve the problem????
Ah, those sweet, halcyon days. Gave Cato Institute staffers a narcotic stronger than heroin, so they say.

I'm trying to remember if Bennet had any problem with the California rulings allowing for gay marriage. Weren't those actions squarely in line with the philosophy he's promoting here?

Newsom acted against the law, which was enacted via the proposition process, by marrying same sex couples. I doubt Bennet agreed with Newsom on this.

![](http://wwwimage.cbsnews.com/images/2005/03/18/image681621l.jpg) Is that Terri? If so, who decided to let Katherine (Kathleen?) Harris (or whatever the FL gov't woman who had something to do with the 2000 vote counts name is) do her makeup? And who the hell did her hair?
Maybe the picture is from the 80s.

If I recall correctly, Newsom argued that the proposition was unconstitutional under the State Constitution, and at least one court has subsequently agreed with him on that point. Bennet is arguing that Bush should go in, guns a blazing under some sort of "natural" law. In my mind that's slightly different.

Thats not Terri. That's a Franklin Mint plate commemorating the Cure's 1986 outdoor concert on the steps of the Capitol.
