If it were possible to tell what cup size a person was just by looking at their breasts, there would be no need to measure and no need for fitting rooms for you to try on the bras.

I am a C cup and FWIW, when I went to Victoria's Secret, they kept trying to give me some bras that looked like an 18-hour bra. I concluded that their bras and/or their sales process sucked and went elsewhere.
I got some excellent bras at VS, but I only buy their stuff on sale. It is overpriced for the quality. Nordstrom and Bloomingdales have the best lingerie, IMHO.

Well, I've always considered the phrase to be gender neutral. And, as noted by the Rolling Stones in "Brown Sugar" --- yeah, yeah, yeah, woooooo!

I have noted that several white female posters here date, have dated, or are married to black men. Yet, I don't recall a single white male poster who has said that they date, have dated, or are married to a black woman.

Why are the overwhelming majority of black-white interracial couples in the US black men-white women couples? Why do I rarely see white men-black women couples?

But if one finds the underlying expression offensive -- which may depend on the speaker and the context -- then is the moniker also offensive? Since on a chat board most people know nothing about the people behind the monikers, it's tough to judge the speaker and the context.

As I write this I am so worried about saying something offensive or ignorant or coming off as overly PC or not PC enough that I realize very few people are likely to want to discuss this and I probably never should have brought it up.

And is it disrespectful to Justice Black? Or is there some lore that he was, uh, well endowed?

I think you worry too much.

The moniker and the joke seem to be about the stereotype, not about the joke's underlying charge. It's a pretty funny play on words.

And I always thought the "once you go black" stereotype was about black people and culture and penis size and sexual ability, not just penis size. Is this just me romanticizing the joke? Is RP's take what everyone understands the joke to mean?

Why pull this quote out of context? I was talking stereotypical for Hollywood starlets (translation: female actors who get lead roles in films).

Your comment isn't adding anything to an admittedly dead topic.

I have dated a black woman. Well, two actually, but who's counting. I married neither of them, but then again I didn't marry a fair number of white, hispanic and asian women either.

I think this is merely your perception, because as a white man you are focused on black men taking what your perceive to be yours (i.e., white women), but don't notice the opposite because it poses no perceived threat to you.

Excellent response.

I have several white male friends who date black women, about the same proportion of black male friends who date white women. So, it probably is perception.

When we have polled the FB in the past, there is a higher proportion of interracial dating than you might suspect.

TV poll

I'll answer E/O's poll, at the risk of suffering the slings and arrows of other FBers. There is not a single show that I always make a point of watching. I usually see West Wing, but only because my SO likes it. I rely on all of you to keep me updated so that I don't make a fool of myself by the watercooler.

I don't think your antecdotal evidence is in line with the true percentage. I will research it and see if I can find a break down by male/female ratios.

I rarely see white women with asian males and rarely see white males with black women.

White women with black men is pretty commonplace, and I believe is far more common than white men with black women.

I never commented on how prevalent interracial couples are. Just how you rarely see white men with black women, but quite frequently see white women with black men.

Like I said, I will do some research and see if anyone has tried to study the issue empirically. Most studies I have seen only look at total numbers of couples without doing a break down of the race of each gender in the couple. I'll get back to you with the results.

me: if the results do not support your prejudice will you alter them to support them like your "boyfriend" temp sock did with the lesbian domestic violence statistics?

and just because you see people walking together on the streets doesn't mean that they are a couple. they could just be friends or coworkers. i'd assume that e/o's actual knowledge based on friends is more accurate than your observations which are undoubtably colored by your prejudices.
