Oddly, however, I iron perfectly.
I've found, to my surprise, that I do quite well with alterations. Otherwise, stuff that I would feel inclined to make myself falls into two categories: (i) I see something dead simple and overpriced and think "jeesuhs chrise, I could make that," in which case I don't bother because someone in a sweatshop in Indonesia is already doing just that so I can find it in Chinatown in 3 weeks, or (ii) I don't see it anywhere but I want it, in which case, given my taste for very fitted styles, very soft fabrics, complex bias cuts, and near-total lack of sewing ability, I have no hope in hell of actually succeeding. Besides, at my hourly rate, it would almost never be more efficient for me to take the time to make something myself, and I don't get quite enough enjoyment out of it to consider it quality personal time (rewiring the chandelier, yes, sewing, no).

However, last weekend I did manage to sew enough straight lines to make new curtains with some lovely silk sari fabric, and with resounding success, so maybe there is hope for me yet.

Same. Most of my unhappiness stems from missing my previous semi-nice car. Also when I bought the thing last year they only had it in three colors so I wasn't able to get it in canary yellow like I had hoped.

You should focus your hate on those of us who live in a state with actual mountains. Buck Hill, south of Burnsville, doesn't quite do it for most people.

Riding in my Barbie Town Car with junk food

A Multi-topic Post

I'm not big into cars. For me they're just a way to get from point A to point B. If the Fugee Car went kaput, I'd probably get another Saturn -- either another boring sedan or their little SUV.

My car wouldn't be pink, but I'm pretty happy with pink in clothes as long as their are choices besides bubble gum pink. I'm a winter so I prefer hot pink, fuschia or raspberry.

I'm fairly shocked that one can buy candy and soda with food stamps. If someone needs assistance to buy food, I'd think we would want them to get healthy food. This isn't an "I work too hard to give my money so poor people can buy candy" issue. Poor nutrition is a huge factor in child living in poverty doing poorly in school.

I'm sorry. I'd like to reply to this post, but first I have to go shake the sand out of my beach bag...

And out of the Brazenette.

And out of the car. And the car seat. And my shorts.

(Going to the beach may have not been such a good idea. In retrospect, y'know.)

Aw, shut up. I just knew I'd get some smart-ass comment from a retiree.

Umm . . . Thur . . . those are just tall buildings you see out there. Mountains are . . . well . . . different.

(Close, but no cigar. Where I go is 12 minutes from my door.)

I thought you had to spend time at client golf outings or mentoring or something.

Me? Since that string of bad verdicts last year, several of my client's are frozen in bankruptcy- it really slows down the ole new file train.

This is so wrong that I don't even know where to begin. What's next, you want me to cook for myself, change my own oil, clean my own place? Woman, I used to worship you, but now, now, I'm all a muddle. Please, please, tell me that at least you let your husband service you rather than doing it yourself.

She built her husband from a kit.
