In other words, your analogy to the challenged child swinging blindly at a plane with a whiffle bat is spot on.

Penske’s tricks are pretty stale:
Byrd - “See, Dems are racist too!”
Racism - “If I assert that Dems are racist, this will somehow overcome the fact that the GOP has profited from the Southern Strategy for years and favors policies blacks do not benefit from.”
Loss of decency - ala Pat Robertson and Falwell... “Somehow, the loss of the nuclear family landed us in Iraq. From Monica’s lips to Baghdad - the linkage is undeniable.”

If you maintain, as you have consistently that because Byrd is a Democrat and I am a Democrat that makes me a racist, then I can call you an asshole. Because you are acting like an asshole and that is wrong.

Actually, you could then call him wrong AND an asshole.

I am gravely disappointed. I know you have stood by brother Lott and brother Helms, and am disappointed that you are so partisan in your principles. Brother Byrd is the most right-thinking and noblest of the Democrats, and we should hope that he one day see fit to join our cause as so many others with his right-thinking ways have.

Notably, and to his credit, Bush chose to simply condemn Bennett's remarks as inappropriate, instead of launching a pansy-ass argument of moral equivalence.
Looks like this is an example of less GOP talking point, more wiffle bat.

It _was_ a stupid and inappropriate thing to say. Bennett could have got his point across without singling out a particular race. (The issue is youth and poverty, more than race.) Even with the best of intentions, he should have known that his statement is obviously offensive.
He says no need to apologize, because he did not actually advocate the abortions. I think that is not the point.

I wouldn't support an organization, either with words or money or actions, that put forth such a virulent unabashed unashamed racist as it's conscience. I have more respect for humanity than that. That's just me. If the National Socialist party came out for the abolition of taxes, I still wouldn't support them. If that makes me an arsehole, so be it.
Going a step further, I don't think that all rank and file dems are racist because they support the DNC (although the party leadership is a different equation) but I question what has happened to the moral compass of the rank and rile of the minority party in this country that they would allow such a travesty. Is the kool aid that good?
Although, if you live in Cook County and support the dems there, that may be even worse, as that party is in leadership and has blood on its hands. From the top on down.

It is not meant to do that, it is meant to point out the hypocrasy of the dims and their plantation style of politics that has created a semi-permanent urban underclass. A great society indeed. I hope the poor of N.O. are appropriately thankful to FDR and LBJ for that.

This is a stupid post. I don't speak for Bush or the GOP and they don't speak for me. While I may have once been and/or worked for the party, that was decades ago. What makes you think I do now? What makes you think I am not a registered independent or libertarian or whatever Perot's party is called? I gave away somewhere in the low 5 figures last year and not one dollar of it was to a political organization, Republican or otherwise.
You and your comrades here make a lot of ASSumptions.

Why does he have to apologise? He is a private citisen, he made a first amendment protected statement. Judge him for it as you will. Sharpton has made plenty of anti-semitic remarks in his career and I don't see his brethren in the dimwit party calling him to apologise.
What I am more concerned about is when a certain US Senator is going to apologise for violating a federal statute by threatening the physical being of the PotUS. Any chance the rule of law loving leftists are going to demand that apologise anytime soon?

If you wanted to know whether I was an arsehole or not, I would have gladly given you the confirmation long ago. If I wanted to be adored I would stuck with my Up With People gig that I did in College.
But I changed, I am rebel now, like the babyjesuschristsuperstar and your pal Hugo Chavez.

Sadly you may be right. If only Reagan would rise up from the dead and lead us back to the promised land of the shining city on the hill. [sigh]
On the bright side, there's always the chance Bush moves the troops from Iraq to Syria....

Read it again, and you'll see that I'm actually differentiating you from the GOP orthodoxy.
I am glad to see, though, that you agree that guilt by association is a rather stupid argument. By extension, it reflects a rather obsessive view of yours on West Virginia senators, but that's a discussion for another day.
