I'm supposed to go to a birthday party in Sayulita, Mexico next Friday, which is just north of Puerto Vallarta.
I feel terrible for my friend who is throwing the party. He's put months of planning into it, and I shudder to think of the cost already sunk. I hope the town makes it through this thing ok, but I imagine even if this small surf town makes it through, the surrounding infrastructure will be hit pretty hard.

Of course, I have to get through my own local (yet related, YAY two systems meeting right over me!) weather event on Saturday/Sunday...

And I was typing, I got an e-mail saying "we're going somewhere else, but we're working on the details! Stay tuned!"

I'm flying through Heathrow later this week. Is there anything that one should by at an airport duty-free store? If I could get a good deal on a bottle of nice scotch, I would, but the prices don't ever strike as very good.

But it does give you something to lean on until you can sort out the local liquor landscape
