This statement, combined with the look on your (avatar's) face, scares me. I am staying out of the way the next time you ask for a lunch recommendation. One can never be too safe.

That should be "all of societies ills are blamed on athletes by yourself."

Who reads any more? If you want to see a movie involving the theme of cannibalism, Ravenous is good. It features Guy Peirce.
Incidentally, Guy Peirce's western The Proposition was released on DVD. An excellent movie with a wonderful cast. The head gangster from Sexy Beast plays a cop on the trail of Peirce and his brother Danny Huston. Say what you will of Hollywood brats, but Huston inherited good DNA and has put it to use. The movie also makes good use of William Hurt as an alcoholic bounty hunter that's fond of Darwin, Yeats, and other poets.

I was just browsing at Red Envelope and I would have ordered the 100 Good Wishes growth chart for baby's first birthday, had I not scrolled down to see that the drop-down menu options for "ship to" are,
select name from list
myself
other, add new name below
Because I am a nerd and proud, I will, if I actually order anything from this errant company, add "me" as a new name. That will, however, probably require that I enter all of my information again. Hmmm, what to do?
It is so hard to be principled.

This profile just won a "Best of" award from the Houston Press: http://www.myspace.com/dyke_a_tron
Their description:
Quote:
Best of Houston ® 2006
City Life
Best MySpace Page
Dyk-A-Tron
DETAILS
Houston
www.myspace.com/dyke_a_tron
"Wrestling in the present to fight for the future!" is the slogan greeting visitors to Dyk-A-Tron's page. The so-called cybernetic lesbian from the future -- shown in full costume and holding her title belt/trophy -- is known around Houston for her Doomsday parody wrestling matches, and the page is a tribute to the doppelganger. Dyk-A-Tron's "friends" list consists of her sworn enemies -- robots Slut Bot, Karate Bot and PartyBot 5000, to name a few -- and her blogs describe her mission to stop the metallic perps from infiltrating the future. "Those evil-natured robots, they're programmed to destroy us. Dyk-A-Tron must be strong to fight them, so Dyk-A-Tron is taking lots of vitamins," reads a blog titled "Tribulations of the future as of yet unsettled." Whom would she like to meet? "Svelte lipstick lesbians made shiny with a top coat of hot oil" and "the she-bot from Metropolis." But keep this in mind, ladies: She's here for "serious relationships," so log on only if you're a one-dykebot kind of gal.
|
ETA: My sister won one of these today, too. I'm so proud.

Well, it's comforting to learn
that I will not have to worry about taking time off to see all the Mets playoff games in that big stack of post season tickets I got.
Well, at least the Rangers look pretty awesome. . .

A mixed bag... I have the most wonderfully twisted memories of that. And the most distrubingly twisted memories of that. All I can say is, don't do that with a chick who has inner demons or can't handle her drugs... The screaming and crying and seld analysis is the world's strongest Salt Peter. "Jesus, will you shut the fuck up? It's a fucking drug... walk it off. Nobody hates you... nobody's watching you..."

I have no actual response, except to say "My name is Barney, and I drink..."

I agree with Sebby.
(I had to go back and reread the quoted post because when I read it the first time, I thought gwnc was saying "just" as in recently, but I now understand it as "just" as in only.)

Oh, God, why would a woman want to have sex with a wired guy? "Please, jackhammer me at top speed until you finally lose your breath and fall on top of me, sweating like Chris Farley."
But, then... drunk sex ain't bad, and it's pretty much the same, just slower.

Isn't a Furry one of those people who dresses in a animal costume and gets together with like-minded sorts for swingers' parties?
