Serial Killer or Computer Programmer? Can you spot the difference?

(edited to add, work safe but contains sound)

Maybe I'm biased by the fact that I saw it stoned out of my skull, and therefore consider it a druggie flick.

Well when you describe it that way, I suppose it's not but my niece loves it. Maybe she shouldn't be watching it.

I can think of about a thousand worse pieces of shit though I probably havent seen them since I genearlly will not see a sequel, a film where an actor was paid over five mill, anything with a big advertising budget and anything starring someeone with really large muscles and a shaved chest (never have seen a Sly or Arnold movie). But then I have something called discerning taste. Mulholland Drive was a very good movie and the acting was excellent as was the filmography or whatever thats called.

There's more Sealab fans on here than just you and me, Jack. Last night's episode was out of control. I loved the final throwaway line: "I'm being blaxploited."

But the real reason I'm writing is for all you music downloaders. "Sister, Do You Know My Name," by the White Stripes, is my song-of-the-moment. I just keep playing it over and over again. I highly recommend it. On another note, I think Outkast's "Hey Ya" is wearing very well. This morning, I heard it for maybe the 80th time, and thought "this is an incredibly great pop song." It will stand the test of time. People in 30 years will be dancing around to "shake it like a Polaroid picture" and thinking that they sure knew how to crunk it up back in the day.

You may be right on the ending (I had to turn it off after that lesbian scene bc thats when the cabaret kicked in). I actually should restate that its a very good movie until the point where the gal opens the box, and then not as much. I think I liked it for its allegorical vision, the cinematography (thats what I meant ) an the overall vibe it conveyed. I dont think I have ever been creeped out by any other movie. This one, very creepy, so in that sense its very good at what it does.

but I dont think the ending was contrived or anything.

*yeah, yeah, i know the center and 2 of the linebackers are nuke eng. majors and technically that's engine schol. but look at the curriculem; mostly 300/400 PHY classes with a little Fluids and heat transfer, thanks for playing but those guys are Physics geeks.

I now close this edition of weekend science board.
Yeah, but they still lost to Yale's American Studies majors in double-OT this week.

Thursday: FabUlous dinner and some nice wine with the most excellent and generous Chicago GA hosts TaxWonk and Aloha Mr. Learned Hand. Wonk is an indeed a most refined gastronome and his esteemed reputation got us to the head of the line at a great Eye-talian ristorante. Mangia indeed! FWIW, because I know you are wondering, there were no GA hookups. Both of the locals claim they are saving themselves for Less. NTTAWWT.

You didnt meet the new love of my cyberlife, mmmm? I need some feedback on this guy. Like, on a scale of Lester to Phillippoussis, Lester being a negative 1,000 and Phillippoussis beig the corresponding positive number, whene does mmm fall?

You are. The entire movie is worth it just for the Lollipop Guild and the heroin-head poppyfield passout scenes.

I was sitting in the room with several other people who were having a conversation while it was on. Everybody abruptly stopped to watch because I was laughing so hard. Why is it that most of the best ads I've ever seen are for beer? Then again, so have some of the worst. (AND TWEENNNS!)
Excellent ad for 25 seconds. Kind of a let down that it's for miller lite. i was expecting a lot more.

What's not to like about the twins? i'd rather them than kid rock, at least.

As far as I know I didn't see him. If he saw a guy in a skirt on Saturday then he saw me. You should have been there. Wonk had a hotel room with your name on it.

I still like the Real Men of Genius line of ads (Bud Light, I believe). Although the radio spots are funnier than the tv ones. The Mr. giant taco salad inventor one is the best.

Is it good for you? Of course. It's a salad.

Well, the ending was a bit anticlimactic, I'll agree.

As far as the tweeeeens, I was using them more as an example of kind of a commercial that really isn't that good -- meaning, not clever. I was actually thinking about the Kid Rock ones when I was typing, but I don't find them especially memorable, so I didn't use that example. I guess I used the tweens because everybody knows the tweeens.
