True. We don't know what happened before she started yelling in the airport and probably never will since she's dead. And, yes, by the time the scene got heavy, the plane had turned away. But we will never know if the plane was still there when she first arrived at the gate.
Witnesses only heard her reaction to the whole thing, screaming. I've seen way too much how bitchy gate agents treat customers and can't help but guess what happened to cause her reaction. My last flight 2 weeks ago, the agent reduced some poor girl to tears in making her think she might not make it on the flight for the second time (she and 50 other passengers were bumped on the prior night's flight - airlines fault) because she arrived 50 minutes before the flight instead of 60 (this woman was exhausted and had been up until 2 am trying to get the hotel room the airline had comped her in Newark, NJ). The flight was a connection to somewhere in Asia and this woman was shaken and didn't know English very well. Which annoyed the agent greatly. The agent knew damn well the seats weren't booked on the particular flight and that she'd make it on. She just wanted to see her suffer. I heard her make snide comments about the woman having a blackberry and therefore, should be mature enough to deal with airport snafus. I wanted to kill that agent. I found myself comforting the passenger.
I've seen the same nastiness over and over. They seem to have the attitude that if you don't like it, and you raise your voice, they threaten to bring in airport cops. I'm guessing (yes, just guess) that something along those lines happened and the woman was upset when gate agents (smugly) told her they had called the cops. She probably thought cops were only called for terrorist type situations and hence, her "running around" trying to plead that she wasn't a terrorist.
But yes, these facts are not anywhere. Just a hunch. I travel a lot and this incident fucking pisses me off.

Have you seen the video? It's on cnn.com.
I don't know what set her off, but her behavior, in an airport in particular, was certainly stupid and ill-advised.
Like I said, if I'd been in an airport and I'd seen someone behaving like she was, I'd want airport police there, posthaste.

Saw the video. It's here She'd been told police had been called. So I'm not surprised that after being told that, we see her make a short sprint from the gate area yelling "Why? I'm not a terrorist." I see the FSA agents talking to her, but she knew the cops were already on their way so she's clearly pleading with the FSA agents that she doesn't think custody is necessary. Cops show up and I see the classic signs of her throwing her arms up and stepping back as in "Come on; What'd I do? Why do I have to go into custody?" Was calling the cops an overreaction to someone simply pissed off at not being allowed to board a flight and raising their voice a bit? Maybe. If so, it could have stopped there. She didn't just show up at an airport screaming about terrorists. I don't see any other passengers in danger. I feel bad for her and her family. Nasty and unsympathetic gate agents versus stressed out Mom on their way to rehab. Gate agent gets to call the cop, so wins.

In my tiny, tiny little village (pop. 600 or so), there is a tiny, tiny little bakery (one of the very few businesses in the village) run by this dude who makes the most awesome cookies and cake I have ever tasted. Perfectly moist, not too sweet, melt-in-your-mouth goodness.
I cordially invite anyone looking for a taste experience to end all taste experiences to my state's Brigadoon. If there aren't too many of you, you can take sanctuary at my manse.
YOU WON'T BE SORRY.

I'm curious, does your husband commute into TCOTU from your tiny village? or stay in city/come up on weekends? how does this all work, I thought you were fairly "far" from city?

Couldn't I cook up my own Duncan Hines, and end up with and even more moist, delicious cake?

Perhaps. But I'm betting not. This guy makes his own brown sugar!! My hunch says he's gay (nttmad). Seriously, the best ginger cookies you will EVER taste.
EV-AH!
In fact, I'm going down the road to buy some now -- I've made my own mouth water just typing about it.

What do you mean by "makes his own brown sugar"? Does this mean he acquires sugar cane or beet and processes it in the back of his shop?? Or does he blend molasses back into white sugar?

I've had no problems with Cingular as long as the phone was a Nokia. When I had a Motorola, calls were dropping constantly and never lasted more than 5 minutes. Really fucking annoying.

It's not bad. The only time I ever drop calls is when someone calls me at the office. And Verizon never worked in any of the office buildings I was in either.
I the real answer is it depends on your local network. AT&T works great in NYC (as far as I've found), Chicago and in the middle of nowhere in Oregon (places I've been), but I don't know about Boston yet. I'll be there for a day trip on Tuesday, so I'll update you afterwards.
