|
I went to college with a girl whose hometown nickname was Munchie. Can't remember how it got started, but for whatever reason, when she was very young (like, an infant), her name became Munchie. Her family and high-school friends all called her that. The only reason her college friends knew about it was because we would overhear conversations with the aforementioned family members &c. She dropped that nickname like a bad habit as soon as she could. Can you blame her?

Continuation of my saga from a long time ago (spring 2001)
Quote:
My advice to Dealtoy was for real. And, Abbakiss, I don't think he needs to ignore himself and his needs, but as an adult he should be more able to deal with all the conflicts and problems more easily than his children. Dealtoy, they are going to have problems and emotions that they don't know how to handle, and whatever you decide, you will need to be their pillar during this time, and that may mean putting yourself and your needs after them. I find great strength in religion in times like these, and I think you should gather whatever strength you can from your own.
|
My dear son. The First Commandment of this board is not to preach to the Old Timers about being selfless when you are a Newbie. This is Gospel. And Heresy. The Second Commandment is to never ever ever recommend seeing a pastor to a board full of swingers, waxers, lovers, single thirty something women at their sexual peak, depo takers, and dirty old men. May I suggest your heartfelt advice and good, solid midwestern values might find a more appropriate home on the PB with Bilmore? Further to the point, all discussions about the needs of children should be on the Lawyers With Kids board. We have enough problems tolerating the attorneys who bring their brats into the office, let alone having to read about them here, in the Cum Zone.

I know I'm going to get some responses like Jesus_Just_Left_Chicago, and I have a sense of humor and can take it. But I was glad to read Leagl's advice to a new poster last weekend to just be themselves and they'd be alright. I'll try not to wear the religion on my sleeve when I post, and I'll try not to post so much that I'm annoying, but I am religious and there are times it helps and I have to just be myself. I find this board very amusing a lot of the time, but I also don't think life is just a joke and this is one of those times for Dealtoy.
|
Dealtoy has posted for years about the same problem but we love him for who he is and find his procrastination and lack of balls endearing. Surely his children are already sensing that marriage does not always equal love and happiness. This is not the message the Church wants to convey. Has it occurred to you that perhaps the Dealtoy children would be happier with parents who have gone their separate ways to find true love and happiness? Thou shall not be judgmental. What makes you think a pastor knows anything about resurrecting the dead love? He is a pastor for christsakes. Ahem.
Right back at you. Amen.

Or it's possible we date far more than we realize, and we're just breaking hearts all over town.

I find that hard to believe since your moniker is "Watchtower."

Um, I thought you said you've been here for awhile. Anyone who's been here would know that every poster on this board already knows everything.

Okay, I was thinking you might be genuine, but anyone signing off with "God bless" has to be a sock. And since I'm sick of pointing at Penske (even though this smells like Penske), I'm not going to pick anyone out at all.

I'd like to be happy but I'm much too poor.
I'd like to be independently wealthy but I'm much too working class.
I'd like to be a multi-million dollar lottery winner but I'm much too unlucky at picking numbers.

boy meets boy scoop
The star of Boy Meets Boy, James, says he "felt betrayed" when he learned that some of his final three suitors might be straight, Newsweek reports. He says, "They told me they put the twist in there because they wanted straight people to watch. I said to them, ‘Well, you’ve played gay people as entertainment for straight people. Of course they’re going to watch." The openly gay producer of the show, Douglas Ross, asks, "Why do gay people need to be protected from participating in reality shows with twists? I don't see us as a victimized minority. We're capable of handling this." Newsweek also talks to one of the straight suitors, who says he found himself "crotch to crotch with this 6-foot-4 guy—who also turned out to be straight. I'm thinking, 'Is my mother gonna see this?'" The show debuts July 29 on Bravo.

Dude, why would you think that swinging, waxing, single thirty something women at their sexual peak don't love Jesus (or Vishnu, YMMV)? Praise the Lord and pass the depilatory. I know where your girl can get her muff waxed into a cross if you want, and then you can go down there to have some communion and make her see God.

Well, setting aside the religious issues, we're all lawyers and know how to read a statement with reasonable care. I never said that Dealtoy should stay with her for the children, only that he should think about the children in making the decision. And that he should really put the kids first whatever decision he makes. As I noted, there are successful single parents, but I think they need to have a lot of strength because it is not easy.
Also, where I come from pastors and overseers are married. I assume you are Roman Catholic. I have to say I have always had trouble understanding how Roman Catholic Priests do fully understand ordinary people given that they haven't been through all that, and if any of you care to explain it to me feel free to private message, as I don't think the swingers et al really want to be part of that discussion, right, Jesus_Just_Left_Chicago?
But forgive my sins on the board, I'm just trying to be helfpul (and a little funny too when I can).
