OK, I'll limit my comment to JJLC only, as long as he will limit the puritanical bullshit to only Watchtower and myself. Better?

It will be better when you pull your head out of your ass and listen to what people are saying.

Given that JJLC seems to feel uncomfortable with the notion that an attorney could be anything but non-christian, he feels free to blast away with stereo-types and misconception.
Well, come one, come all.

Good God! Back to parochial school for you.
Lesson number one. Jesus was a Jew. If you do not believe me, go back and read the FB from a bit ago and/or rent "Meet the Parents". So, it was a joke. You threw a softball and I hit it right over your tiny little head.
Lesson number two: the dancing comment refers to the film "Footloose". You were discussing married pastors and the land from which you hailed. It all sounded so very Kevin Bacon awakens Lori Singer in the Eighties to me.
Lesson number three: I am not a sock. I really am Jesus and am here to save the board from the closet Jew hating gentiles.

And what happened to summer vacation and spring break? Now it just means trying to work out childcare arrangements. How can anyone have a vacation when we blow all of our vacation time covering the school holidays.
arghhhhhhhhhhh why didn't we appreciate it when we had it so good, why, why, why, why?:shakehd: :sobbing:

It is almost 90 and sunny here-- that's the problem. I should be out with the top down blowing by pigs and flashing the fuck you sign at them. I should be at home, naked, floating in a pool chaise slugging back brewskies and reading trashy books. I should not be here. I don't wanna be a big girl anymore. Of course, then I suppose I wouldn't have the convertible or the pool to float in so....this sucks. MOMMY!!!!
edited to add: I feel like the "once a real badass bigot who turns out to be one of the gang" on Porky's who kept calling the Jewish lad a "kite" because even though I know it is derogatory I don't know what "kike" means and why it is so offensive. Anyone care to explain? By PM would be find if we need to keep it off the board to avoid offending. Fuck, I guess I could Google it but I would probably hit on some hatesite and I hate that shit.

Yay! If you could straighten out the morons still fixated on the "Judas was a Jew so the Jews killed Jesus" thing, I would very much appreciate it. I have heard brainwashed little kids say the latter part.

Being a flaming atheist, I feel qualified to comment here.
JJLC was cutting pretty close to the bone with the rather offensive replies to the door-knocker. No one jumped him for that. If we are going to get our noses out of joint for offense merely because of the inclusion of one word and ignore (and maybe even chuckle at) equally bad offense sans some trigger word, we are being a bit shallow.

Exactly. JJLC was feeling quite free to toss the darts at the pseudo-Christian rightist for even daring to suggest something that might smack of religious reflection. As I said earlier, the post is rife with it. The situation came to a head with the dancing comment - regardless of whether it came from a movie or not.

Oh for gods sake. I'm an atheist who was raised Baptist who is dating someone Jewish. Do I get to weigh in too?
The comment about dancing was funny. The hurling of the word "kike" was not.
I may not be able to explain the line between offensive and inoffensive, but I know it when I read it.
