Yeah, they took it away from us too. I can't even run two different versions of Outlook like I could in the good ole days. Their solution was to put another PC and monitor on my desk.

Apparently Microsoft has some new license agreement. It may apply only to Vista, but it limits running multiple copies of software on a machine or "virtualization". Of course this may have nothing to do with anything.

If you want, I could tell you how my copy of Entourage (the Mac outlook equivalent) allows me to open multiple windows within the application so I can see calendar, address book, and email in separate windows. But I'm sure you don't want me to tell you that, or how you can have that goodness.

I am having some wiring done in my house, including coax runs. Is there any reason to have more than one run to each TV location? In particular, do I need more than one run for DirecTV? Or can that be handled through a multiswitch at the dish end?

I can't tell you for sure if it's necessary, but it's how we are set up to use our dual receiver Directv/Tivo box. I presume it was wired that way for that reason.

DirecTV only currently needs two cables if you're running two receivers at the location, including the two receivers in a single DirecTV/DVR receiver.

IIRC, DirecTV is currently working on some sort of frequency modulation to let you accomplish the same thing with only one cable, so customers don't have to add an additional cable.

FWIW, though, I recommend that if you're running one cable, you go ahead and run two. Won't cost much more, and gives you the option of running a DVR with both tuners -- and once you get used to that on one TV, you'll be annoyed at every place in your house that doesn't have the DVR setup.

Can you still right-click folder and choose "Open in new window"?

my daughter has an apple. she is getting fine internet connection when in a wireless space. but her room isn't wireless and the wire connection isn't working- the wire is working for her roommates. ideas?

settings are wrong or ethernet jack is fried. Rule out the latter if she can plug in elsewhere.

Probably needs to go into her network preferences and fix something.

My shuffle is configured for a Mac. But I would like to be able to charge it at work. Would my PC charge it? the PC gives me an error message, but that doesn't mean the shuffle isn't gettign charged.
