Goddammit, I am now completely confused. I think I will have to stick to plain old sarcasm, which seems to be immune to trends, ergo, a timeless classic.

You know, booger, I am really tired of your feeling the need to post about me all the time. At first it was flattering, like you had some kind of cybercrush on me, or I was laminated list material for you , or at least you thought I was bangable. But I think I have had it about up to HERE with it. Find some other poster to follow around and respond to and quip about and memorize everything they ever post. Because I wont be reading it. You are now on a rest of the week visit to the land of Foof.

You ARE the weakest link! Goodbye! (it is so 2001 that I think its time to bring it back)
Wow, Paigow. I'm amazed by the level of self-loathing in this post. Is it possible to ignore yourself? Having yourself on your laminated list is understandable though. NTTAWWT.

The problem I face is that it logically follows that being trendy, which is currently in and therefore is so 1998, is thus hip (with the above caveats about how you go about being so 1998). But, the original premise was that not understanding irony was trendy, and that trendy is in. This leads inescapably to the conclusion that not understanding irony is trendy, which is currently in, which is so 1998, which is hip, but only if you are so 1998 in an ironic way but with the understanding that you are not really being ironic. In short, not understanding irony is actually hip, but only if you understand irony (or at least the lack thereof), which may itself be ironic, but I'm not really sure.
If I were a guy, I would so have a mancrush on you.

SPOILER SPACE

Did seem that some of the "Fab 5" were exaggerating things a bit, and some of their witticisms were awfully stereotypical, like the one guy saying "When we're done you're gonna call me Patty Duke cause I'm a miracle worker" or his claimed use of "I'm super, thanks for asking..." fresh out of Big Gay Al speak on South Park...
The few gay men I know are nowhere near as flamboyant as these guys were portrayed... just normal folks. But I guess that doesn't sell ad time.

It was fairly entertaining though, and I did pick up a few useful clothes and grooming tips from the show. Much more watchable than most of the other reality-type shows.
I missed it, to my immense sorrow, however, there was a NYT article a day or so about it that took a different view of the whole "gay presentation in the mainstream" thing. Their view was that, regardless of the stereotypical characatures (or maybe even more so because of it), the show was a pretty cool thing for gay culture because it illustrated and reinforced the extent to which straight culture is no longer afraid of, and in fact admires, some of the more highly visible aspects of gay male culture. Straight men no longer look at guys with waxed eyebrows, decorated apartments, well-fitted clothing and other things that mainstream culture associates with gayness and dismiss or ridicule the guy for being a "fag," they look at him with envy and as someone to model their own behavior after to make themselves better, and more desirable, men. Mainstream culture increasingly embraces, not just the gay men who "fit in" or "pass," but the ones who advertise and celebrate themselves as different, who stand out and rub straight's noses in it. That's HUGE, and, I think, rather more important than the whole "but we're not all like Jack" thing.

No, Irony is too elusive a term to be trendy for the masses will never get it. You are trendy and irony is a part of who you are. For awhile, you were passe, like when sunny bunny finally discovered the wonders of you and kept putting you on cursh lists and cyberstalking and announcing her devotion. At that point, I said "Oh man, the flower is so over". But it appears that now you are back.

And speaking of over. White Stripes. Done.

"Waxed eyebrows" are gay.

Exactly. All part of our vast zionist wing plot. Jesus was really a jew (ssshhhhhhh, don't tell anyone!). Our sock. Sent to infiltrate these idiot christian masses with G-d's commandment.

Between our subliminal control of the christians and total control of the media we will rule the world.

except for those pesky islamics. Our Mohammed sock sort of backfired.

I'd hold off on buying. The Weekly World News has reported that 3 new Commandments were found in Iraq.

No more Brazilians

Getting a Brazilian is soo last spring. It is now officially a MOBY.

go getta Moby

Moby has a new dubious claim to fame. The bald techno rocker’s name now refers to a total and complete bikini waxing. Notes Moby, “I’m so honored.”

In other news...Are Jennifer Love Hewitt and Orlando Jones an item? The two were spotted looking quite cozy at Los Angeles restaurant G. Garvin’s. “They arrived separately, but sat very close and it wasn’t due to lack of space,” reports our spy, who adds, that the twosome “were acting as though they were really into each other — touching, looking, laughing.”

And Monica is at a fat farm (not phat farm)...
MONICA LEWINSKY is said to be a guest at the $600-a-day Grayshott Hall, near Guildford, England.
“She looks very heavy, big hips and bum,” an unkind source told the London Mirror.
