Did seem that some of the "Fab 5" were exaggerating things a bit, and some of their witticisms were awfully stereotypical, like the one guy saying "When we're done you're gonna call me Patty Duke cause I'm a miracle worker" or his claimed use of "I'm super, thanks for asking..." fresh out of Big Gay Al speak on South Park...
The few gay men I know are nowhere near as flamboyant as these guys were portrayed... just normal folks. But I guess that doesn't sell ad time.

It was fairly entertaining though, and I did pick up a few useful clothes and grooming tips from the show. Much more watchable than most of the other reality-type shows.

The fashion guy, Carson (?) bugged the crap out of me with his over-the-topness. I know a couple of guys like him though, so it's not like he's not being himself. One of the guys that I know like him owns a modelling agency, so I think it's the combination of fashion and gayness that really brings out the flamboyance.

Other than him, I didn't really think that they were that flamboyant. I was amazed at what they were able to do to their subject, and I think that he was very pleased with the results. I was heartily amused at the peanut gallery's commentary on the gallery opening and watching that female "friend" react to the transformation. My guess is that the apartment is going to be fairly messy, but with a much more usable layout. The kitchen transformation was good. I think that he's going to keep his hair like that, and his wardrobe adjustments will remain intact for awhile. Also, if the guy's art starts selling, he's going to care a little more about his appearance for openings and the like.

I was convinced the second guy was a no hoper, and I'm pretty sure that his wife was an enabler. That living room was terrible, as was the kitchen. He looked like he was going to try out for the Sopranos in a few weeks as a very low level mobster. I was most impressed with the transformation of the house than the guy, since he looked so uncomfortable that I know he's going to revert back to his old self eventually. He'll make his wife happy for a few weeks and then everything will go back to normal.

But no, it is obvious that if you were to sock now, you would invoke the double caps so as to throw people off of your socking trail. Or something like that.

I am of the opinion that kike is a harsher . . . not insult, but you know what I mean, than a joke based on Footloose. Bilmore was equating them (saying that kike was an appropriate response to the Footloose joke) and then turned around and mocked Pat Robertson, who I'm sure holds close to his heart certain beliefs about the afterworld and would be very offended if someone suggested Allah rules it.

in a non-scientific poll with a really small sample size, "Assjack" was narrowly leading "Asshat" in the category of "quality putdowns beginning with the word 'ass'", with "Assmuffin" running a distant third.

The generic "Asswipe" was deemed to be too 1988.

Just because you've come to peace with the unibrow doesn't mean others should stop striving for a more evolved appearance.

And just like that, the Flower is so over.
It was a good ride, but frankly, I'm glad it's over. I'm just looking forward to having a little quiet time, and maybe hanging out with Jack and Renee.

Not to demolish my status as one of the people too smart to stick her nose into this one, but in fairness, Bilmore didn't equate the two, and never suggested that either comment was "appropriate", either in the first instance or in retaliation; he pointed out that some of the same people who freak out when righteously (and justifiably) trouncing someone's biggoted comments about Jews insist that sweeping stereotyping insults aimed at Christians or sects thereof are "funny," and that there is some obvious hypocracy there, no matter how much Thurgreed insists that "you people just have no sense of humor."

Jokes about individuals for things they actually did or said are clearly distinguishable, without commenting on their appropriateness.
