Btw, I meant to tell you. I abstained from doing any drugs (save an unavoidable slight contact high) at the a recent Flaming Lips performance. I think your call was the right one.
It was a pretty amazing show without the drugs.

No it doesn't because they play such strong zones. I'm not sure about whether there are any rules against what kind of zones they're allowed to play, but they're definitely cutting down on driving by using a zone.
And the widening of the lane and the liberal calling of 3 seconds is HUGE. All of our post players are much bigger, stronger and more athletic and if you move them further from the basket and keep them out of the lane, what the fuck good are they? You need a big man who can play a zone and has great outside shooting skills to succeed. And guess what? That's not what any NBA team is built around. Tell me who would guard Shaq or even Brand if the lane was NBA regulation under FIBA rules.
And just think about how ingrained goal tending is in the NBA. If we could touch the ball once it hit the rim in the NBA and carried this new skill over to international play, it would vastly cut down scoring.
These are major differences. And it's basically a different, jump shooting, stationary-passing game.

Just remember to stay away from the lexapro, zoloft and methadone.

It's a hell of a lot better than what's in the office and it's close. No matter where I am, it's close.

Who said it was confusing? They play by a different set of rules than the ones college or professional players play by in the country of the sport's origin. Although I said someone needs to explain to me why they have different rules, you don't really. It's to spread the popularity of basketball, internationally and to give countries who would have no chance of ever beating us that chance. And it is working, but don't act like these rules are somehow better or more fair or whatever because they were developed by an "international standard-making body, of which the US is a participating member."*

I like their lattes better than the ones from Coffee Bean and better than the ones from the cafe downstairs. And more consistent.
ET make it explicitly about what I like.

New look for Matthew. And I'm sorry, but if he didn't take his bike to the vet, then he should have taken the time to change first.

Excellent. When they played the song Free Radicals, did they have that background video of the Japanese game show where young Japanese women would stick their heads up through holes on a platform and then they released a Kimodo dragon onto the platform to see who would be the last women to duck out of the way. Did you notice that the women has slabs of raw steak strapped to their foreheads? I thought that last part was a nice touch. Unfortunately, I did not follow my own advice, so take my comments for whatever diminished worth they have.

Bartenders' wages are based on the expectation that they will be tipped. This is not true of other counter service jobs. Do you tip every person you come in contact with who sells you anything?

That had the desired effect. I could almost see your derision dripping from the quoted words. In fact, I recoiled in disgust at the thought of someone saying those words non-ironically.
