Can't wait to see the Law & Order rewrite of this one. Which on of the detectives makes solving the case their cause? Olivia because once again the females are being victimized? Tutuolo (sp?) because he hasn't had his coffee yet and is feeling cranky? Oh, the inhumanity of the seedy side of the poultry business!

Anne
There are some really sick people on this planet. No chicken should be the victim of a crime. It's just wrong.

Clearly I need to watch more Comedy Central. Now that The Office is over I can move on from BBC America.

No, just the one copy. But you can get it here.

Though of course, you should buy it through the LT link.

No. Nathan Arizona is the father of the kid that Nicholas Cage and Holly Hunter kidnap in "Raising Arizona."

Old and reliable Nathan Detroit is the owner of the oldest established, permanent floating, crap game in New York. Frank Sinatra played him in the film version of "Guys and Dolls."

Apropos of nothing, when I did a google search for a picture of Frank as Nathan (no luck finding one, by the way), the results page listed a picture from a website called www.menwholooklikekennyrogers.com

Imagine my disappointment in discovering that that page is no more. Sic transit gloria mundi, etc.

And don't forget the Bond movie with Madonna in it. For fencers, pure bliss.
Gack.

For once, I'd actually like to see a fencing scene where they actually bother to use real parry 4 and 6.

If I recall the plotline (I'm not too worried about spoiling a soccer movie from 1981), this movie was about a soccer game in which an all-star team of Nazis plays a team composed entirely of Allied POWs. The prisoners get their asses kicked in the first half, mostly because the Nazis, being Nazis, cheat with impunity, but when given the opportunity to escape during halftime, the prisoners instead elect to go back and play the second half anyway, despite a Gaping Hole to Freedom That Has Been Bashed Into Their Shower Floor. They win, thanks in part to the inexplicable fact that Pelé is among the POWs, thereby shaming the Germans out of believing in their racial superiority, because a group of 11 starving POWs can beat their twink asses.

So I'm going to go out on a limb and say Stallone adds nothing to the ridiculousity of this movie. Infinity plus one is still just infinity.

If I'm remembering correctly that Stallone plays the second half with a broken ankle, I hereby retract the above paragraph.

And I think you and I just started the Mystery, Alaska fan club -- double-dutch secret. I thought that I owned the only copy. As an added bonus to a great flick (once again, sports with some law thrown in -- woohoo) I was finally able to convince my never-been-on-skates-in-his-life husband that it is a hockey SWEATER..sweater, sweater, sweater. Jersey? um, no. And they said "pond hockey" a lot which makes me horny.

I hate the fucking Rangers.
