On the basis of the board's recommendation, I bought the DC-18. I was pretty fucking impressed with what came up out of our rugs. Of course, some aspect of that awe has to be related to the fact that it dumps into a clear container; for all I know the opaque bags are catching as much shit but doing so in comparative obscurity. Still, you can tell it sucks like a truckstop whore just from the resistance pushing it across the carpet.

Verdict: recommend.

Leggett & Platt plans to sell a tricked-out place of rest it calls the Starry Night Sleep Technology Bed, mattresses included. The bed, which was on display at the International Consumer Electronics Show, incorporates features like wireless Internet connectivity, an iPod dock, a surround sound speaker system, LCD projector, dual temperature controls and DVR capability.

Leggett & Platt said the bed also comes with a vibration-detection feature that will elevate that half of the bed 7 degrees if a user is snoring and then return to the original position once the snoring stops.

That would totally be worth it.

The company expects the Starry Night to be available in the first half of 2009 for $20,000 to $50,000, depending on which features a buyer chooses.

"I know it sounds like a lot, but you show me somebody that sleeps in a bed with someone that snores; I will show you a person that thinks $20,000 is a very small amount to pay to solve that problem," Mark Quinn, group executive vice president for Leggett & Platt's bedding division, said Tuesday at CES.

Does she have ski boots on?

Stop getting "prostate massages" at 3AM and you won't have to get up to pee.

Ew, messy. And in that bed, you might get electrocuted.

Those who advocate proper "sleep hygiene" (you know, the bed is only for sleeping and sex) would be horrified by that bed.

I've found the steering wheel usually gets in the way, though.

They're doing irreparable harm to that boy. He'll never learn how to drive a bed.

Dissent. The guy from "Silver Spoons" was married to Erin fucking' Gray in the series. Trim of that quality don't grow on trees.

By "guy" you mean Rick(y) Schroder? Because I thought that was his mom.

Now your point may still hold that MILF trim of that quality doesn't grow on trees, but you really need to be more precise.

I believe Ricky Stratton's mother was dead. His dad, the eccentric millionaire, had a car bed, and eventually ended up romantically entwined with his hottie assistant, played (apparently) by some woman named Erin.

Okay, so stepmother. That changes things. SMILF.

ETA: Wait, the dad had a car bed? Because that's just freaky, and calls into question the mental stability of any MILF/SMILF who's willing to jump into the, um, backseat of his car-bed. CSMILF?
