Anyone else have any close calls?

Remember a few years ago there was a plane that crashed on the runway at LaGuardia and skidded off into the bay? My plane was coming in to land right behind it. I nearly barfed because we pulled up so fast.

Movie Recs
I just signed up for Netflix and I'm very anal about making sure I get my $$$'s worth, so I need lots and lots of movie recs from you people. Assume I've lived in a cave my whole life and have seen nothing except for every John Cusack movie. What movies should go into my queue?
I tend to like horror movies (I'm counting on you here, DS), thrillers and mysteries. I like some action movies, but more superhero-type stuff than pure Rambo/Segal/VanDamme stuff. I don't like pure chick flicks. I only like about 50% of romantic comedies (hate hate hate Meg Ryan and Julia Roberts). I don't like movies with subtitles (yeah, I'm a prole, kiss my ass).
I know this doesn't narrow things down too much, but I don't really want to narrow things down, I want an orgy of movies to choose from. I'm also too lazy to go searching for old threads where I'm sure people discussed their favorite movies. Don't let me down!

Excuse me, but "proactive" and "paradigm"? Aren't these just buzzwords that dumb people use to sound important? Not that I'm accusing you of anything like that.

Does you SO want to block your porn sites?
http://www.salon.com/mwt/feature/200...ers/index.html
[spouses buy porn filters to keep each other from seeing internet porn]
You know, in all honesty I still just can't understand how one adult says to another "I'm threatened by your viewing porn, you must never, ever do it again" and doesn't think that they are the one with the problem.
BR(other than cases of real, pathological addition - but if you couldn't say the same thing substituting "video games" or "TV" for "porn" with a straight face given the same level of use, WTF?)C

And where does that horrible movie "The Perfect Score" that you dragged me to fall into horrors, thrillers and mysteries?
Sunny(I want you to refund my 8.25$ for that ticket, but at least I get out of jail free for some stupid move I've made for that one!)Bunny

a quick perusal of that site shows that over half of the movies that appear on those lists were made before I was born. Clearly nothing worthwhile was made before I was born. Who is this "AFI" person anyway, and why should I listen to him?

You're retarded. That's the only movie you were willing to go see that didn't have subtitles.
Also, you talked the whole way through it and I kind of wanted to kill you. I didn't want to have to tell you that, but you had to go starting something.

Um, I was a big fan of "The Quiet American" After you're done with it can you drive it over to the Mr's, since I've been trying to get him to rent it for months...I think he'd like it.

I was trying to torture you. It was payback for that horrible movie. And I was willing to see anything that I hadn't seen yet, which didn't leave much. I can't recall anything else you wanted to see that I nixed for any reason other than having already seen it. And I think I was even willing to see Mystic River again.
