I bet they'll let you fly the plane for a few miles if you buy a ticket.

The contracts tend to be forever and ever. Maybe they were saying we've the right to charge?

Who gives a fuck what the contract says.
I hand wrote in the contract saying I get the right to rub one out on the elliptical. Enforceable?

Which arm gets bigger if you do that regularly?

What the contract says and whether they have the proper authorization under federal law to pull funds from your account are two separate questions.
eta: And it sounds like they're not going to be collecting on the contract anytime soon.

The last 4 weeks or so we have been doing virtual deps. Client sits in his house with a computer w a web cam, lawyers are each in their houses with computers, same for the court reporter.
|
Curious. Are the deps any shorter now that they are not 4-5 day boondoggles?

No.
Before, I used to be like Dwight Schrute and jam all the doors closed and set fire to a garbage pail to get people to stay late and finish because I wanted to get home.

Now, I'll just call it early, sign off and sit on the deck and grill some burgers.

I was taught that the most important deposition might take 4 hours, and most half that. I really think I can teach you. Send me $50K and i will send you my tips.

These are depositions I am defending. There is no time limit in NY State court. I am Team Hank when I take depositions.
They are mostly taken by lawyers who went to C grade law schools who are looking to get paid and are too dumb to realize -- they are in a hole and each question is a shovelful of dirt out of their hole.
However, we have found that the longer the deposition, the bigger the verdict, so keep digging buddy.

Cuomo today
Said random antibody tests in NYC showed 21% positive. Noting that young people are significantly under represented in antibody production, Icky's 35-40% infected isn't far off.

I think that's silly. If they had made dividend payments, would that have been OK? I don't recall anyone saying, hey, airlines are profitable, but their management should be saving cash in case they get shut down for months by a global pandemic.
