I can't imagine why, unless groupies traditionally have a thing for guys with chimp-level body hair. Incidentally, I saw a guy the other day with the guys' heads from Kiss tatooed on his ankle. You are right. And my apologies to the kind folks at NAMBLA who have a desire to bang only sexy boys.

Edited to add: Who is being dehumanized again? The guys who only want to bang Asian chicks, or the Asian chicks? Bc I would hagve to say being turned into a fetish by some guy who has a kink for your race is pretty dehumanzing. Kind of like the meaning of the term "sex object"

No, I do my personals dating elsewhere, I just read Craig's List for kicks -- it's a younger (more college-aged and 20 somethings), less articulate FB in many ways (e.g., lots of discussion about anal sex lately on my local rants board).

There are some links on the site to news articles that will tell the story better, I'm sure, but it was started in SF for nonprofit types to post housing and jobs. It obviously has expanded -- the Rants and Raves are new and my current favorite.

If you really want to see some bizarre stuff, check out the Casual Encounters. Some cities have a place for pros to post as well.

And the Asian obsession thing is a recurring theme over there.

Sounds fun. I only wish I had known you and your friends during my period dating a guy from a Beatles cover band. He was a George, but also sang some John (late stuff mainly)...

YES!!! Once a KISS fan, always a KISS fan. And Paul Stanley is HOT (chimplike hair notwithstanding). I just wish he'd just marry and settle down - that way he'd be REALLY happy - not that fake happy to be banging groupies and raking in tons of dough forever.

Personally, I think that the kid should sue his parents for naming him Ghyslain. And who the fuck uses "portly" to describe someone these days? I know they are French-Canadian and all that but certainly that does not allow us to presume that they are ignorant enough to name their kid Ghyslain -- or, for that matter, the paper to use the word "portly."

NEW YORK — Two police officers were shot Wednesday on the second floor of City Hall in lower Manhattan (search). Mayor Michael Bloomberg (search) was apparently unharmed.

2nd floor balcony, apparently, mayor fine, not known if it had anything to do with the city council meeting that was in session. Not clear if there are injuries. Lots of sirens, anyhow.

Agree with you on the name. But chubby would be downright insulting and probably cause him yet even more anguish.

And thanks for the news update - I would have loved to see pictures of reporters diving under desks.
