If the cat has consented to the wearing of the clothes, then it is not torture. But when you blow bong hits into their face, hold them down while they try to scratch you with their declawed feeties while you try to cram a plaid sweater over their heads, then yes, that counts as animal torture.

According to Michael Moore, the Canadians have almost as many guns per capita as we do, though his movie was a little murky on access (i.e., whether you can stroll into a Wal Mart in Saskatchewan and pick up some hot dogs and pistol). I was surprised, though, at the sheer number of guns in Canada, given the relative paucity of shooters there.
Though perhaps, that just means we're better shots.

You frighten me in a strange way. So how did the plaid sweater look on Kitty? Have pics? Have your wounds healed (cuz everyone knows it is the not declawed and very powerful rear feeties used for popping the heads off mice that you gotta watch out for)?

Dude, those guns are for hunting. Great white north. Moose. Wolves.
By the way, by my counter, it shows that we are 9 short pages away from page 1000. Should we make it a race?

My friend is a bar owner and he says that ain't it. There aren't less smokers going out or more non-smokers taking their places. The breakdown is pretty much the same. It's just that the smokers who would normally be smoking AND drinking have to go back and forth and aren't drinking nearly as much.

1. There are fewer shooting deaths in Canada because bullets, like healthcare, are socialized and severely rationed. Gun-related deaths are ruled "blunt force trauma to the skull" while "death from natural causes" is reserved for those who die waiting 3 years to see a doctor.
2. What the fuck? Didn't you notice how hard I am trying to get to 1000? I can't do this alone. ![Wink](http://www.lawtalkers.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)

From the cat's perspective it certainly does. Hell, my easygoing dog never got over his snit from having to wear a collar--if I'd tried to put a sweater on him he would've gotten Amnesty International on my ass.

You could ask the cat, but dead men tell no tales, if you get my meaning.
WTF kind of prissy dog did you have? Poodle? Cocker spaniel?

Wounds have healed quite nicely. Only minor scarring. I'll post pictures of me and kitty in our matching Burberry sweaters next fall.

Good God no! Just a sensible one with some dignity.
P(and I don't count dogs who are carved into freakish topiaries or who ride in old ladies' pocketbooks as having any)J

One loses all credibility when one starts off a sentence with "according to Michael Moore". Anyway, assuming you are serious, the guns are generally for hunting. Urban gun ownership is low. Rural gun ownership - very high. When I was growing up, hunting accidents rivalled snowmobiling accidents for deaths of kids I grew up with. Just about every year it seemed a kid in the neighborhood would die because of one of those.

Finally, a rational explanation for why population density in Canadian urban areas is very high, but that density seems to fall off the further you get into the tundra.
