I think you mean "parry" and the "back and forth" may be redundant with that word, or possibly it's just not an apposite word. I think parry is warding off an attack, and doesn't imply a the counter-attack that would be necessary for it really to be a back and forth thing.

Nope. This site is, effectively, one big FB (which is logical given that the site was founded by FBers and almost all the moderators are FBers). Except for the Jenkins thread on the TX board, I don't see too many non-FBers posting regularly about firms.

Newbies are expected, unfortunately, to lurk and pick up on FB history, jargon, and the personal idiosyncrasies of the FBers -- in short, observe an FB protocol of sorts -- in order to post without being flamed and piled-on.

From what you've described, I think NW Native would be wasting em's time on this site.

I'll bite. First of all, I believe that NW Native is female.
Second, the sound, of course if you watched sleepless in Seattle is salt water. That's why you can't take your boat from Lake Union (lake) to Alki (salt) without taking hours and going through the locks. That was the hahahahahaha moment that the locals speak of. One of them at least.

So sure. Why not? It's not like it ever snows in Seattle. People kayak 12/52 on Lake Washington (which is a Lake) so the sound is easy. You don't even have to worry about waves. Hell, don't even bring your own kayak, you can rent one in Montlake and paddle through the locks or just drop in at Alki. Go for it.
