Festive, fringe. The word is festive. Probably inspiration for the holiday of Festivus, if you think about it.

And please, for the love of Pete, go up a pants size.

Survey says (from tallest to shortest)...

Zindane - 185 cm (6'1"), 78 kg (172 lbs.)
Guti - 185 cm (6'1"), 76 kg (168 lbs.)
Helguera - 185 cm (6'1"), 73 kg (161 lbs.)
Ronaldo - 183 cm (6'0"), 82 kg (181 lbs.)
Figo - 180 cm (5'11"), 75 C(165 lbs.)
Portillo - 180 cm (5'11"), 72 kg (159 lbs.)
Raul - 180 cm (5'11"), , 68 kg (150 lbs.)
Michael Salgado - 174 cm (5'8"), 75 kg (165 lbs.)
Roberto Carlos - 168 cm (5'6"), 70 kg (154 lbs.)

This would suggest they are slightly taller than average, but also very lean for their stated heights. I suspect that, like our sports, they lie up on the height and down on the weight, which would make them pretty damn average.

Thank you Less. Your google-fu is improving -- soon you will be able to leave this place.

I'm still at a loss as to why they airbrushed out bnb's boobs but didn't do the same for my tummy.

She must have blown someone.

I don't think soccer is a bad sport. I think it could be better. I don't like it, but I recognize that I am in a very small minority. Some of the most skilled athletes in the world play soccer. It is a complex, game where speed, stamina, quickness and skill are all necessary elements. But it still sucks.

Then I won't invite you over for the Euro finals this weekend. To each his own.

But, do keep in mind one positive effect of the difficulty of scoring -- it makes upsets a far greater possibility. Underdog team gets lucky or makes things click and scores a goal, and they can win. The Euro finals this year include two teams that have never before been in the finals (I believe). When's the last time that happened in the World Series, the NBA finals, or the Superbowl?

But, like I say, to each his own.

edited to note that it was a soccer game she was playing, in case that was not evident. I'm tired and my shins hurt.

Damn. Pity she didn't score the winning PK like Brandy Chastain.....

yes. into even more of a clusterfuck. 9 people tied for first with 2 picks each. there are 6 months to go, so hopefully the leaderboard will thin out at some point during that time. or we'll hand out gift certs for $1 each to all of the winners...

Poll: would you work anywhere in the U.S. for $5M/year (assuming the job itself was acceptable)?
Duh.

$5m/year for 3 years. Then I quit. And retire to South America. With ncs, RP, fringey, ABBA, TM, Not Bob, Ironweed and Kevin Bacon. And Johnny Depp, just so I can keep his goatee trimmed.
Hey!!! Why can't I come, too?
