I remember that night my freshman year at the Deke mixer. You'd just been named the Deke Head. I was 18 and confused and not used to being around men so sofisticated, so knowing, so deliberately hairless. You said you had a really big stereo and asked if I wanted come to your room to check it out. I said, "SURE!" God, I was so NAIVE!!!

Your room was wicked bad - I'd never seen someone with wall-sized posters of The Smiths AND Robert Smith. Did anyone besides me ever get the joke?

And so many cassettes! Of bands I'd never heard of!!!! I thought I was blown away by the size of your woofers until you opened up the tape deck and slapped in "Love Will Tear Us Apart." Not the JD version but The Swans cover. The slow accoustic version with the chick singing..

Dark started appearing around the edges, but not before I heard the opening riff to "How Soon Is Now." Or maybe it was that Hippy Chick song - they can do amazing things with cassettes. No hissing.

I wanted to dance, but the night ended too soon. It seemed like one minute I was sitting on the futon and the next minute I was looking for my clothes, quietly so as not to wake your roommate.

So I'll try the "E." But don't bring the roommate. It was funny when you talked all, "Deke, deke, deke, deke, deke," but I want to feel all shiny and new.
I hope Slave at least had the decency to sport you a reacharound but alas, I fear, for your unrequited love's sake, that such is not the case. Or at least that's my bet based on the stories Ironweed has told me of his greco-romanesque style relations with Slave.

Dude, get a grip, no pun intended, the Olson twins are the Smiths/Robert Smith combo of their generation.

If nothing else, at least make him buy you dinner this time. And order something other than the tossed salad.

So I am watching For Love or Money tonight and the thought occured to me, could PJ, the winning love seeker chick, be our PJ, Purse Junkie?

It seems like toom much of coincidence givne the duplication of what is, otherwise, a very very rare name (other than PJ Soles) and our PJ has been missing of late. Given that, I mean, what are the odds?!??

Assuming I'm right, I wish her well and am the first, here, to offer her congrats on finding love.

It just goes to show, TM is sometimes wrong.

It is difficult to respond seriously to these allegations while your tongue delicately yet persistently and insistently laps at my anus,* but what the hell are you talking about? NYU? Freshmen? Sushi followed by bathhouse karaoke? "You know I can't smile without you . . . ."?

*Better, fringey?

already did. kind of. Didn't you hear about the diamond district merchants who were busted money laundering by melting gold down and molding it into common household objects and smuggling it in and out of the country? Maybe one of those objects was an AK-47 in 14k.....

Is this ironic?

Did you recently have a birthday or 12, move to the midwest, and develop a heart condition, fatty?
