Agreed. Assuming this is 2001.

Assuming you speak the language of drunken wretchful assweasal, then yes. In reality, you might want to go down to the local methadone clinic and have one of new arrivals translate for you. No offence.

LOL! Good on the Mean People for such a quick comeback. I could use writers like that. Anyhoo, so far today those fvcking pussy-ass Anti-Mean People have not responded, to the best of my actual knowledge, information and belief (ymmv), and I think that the smack has come down on them, but I will keep all of all y'all posted. No pun intended.

(Hi PLF!)
(Hi Penske!!)

This reminds of the time back in 2001 when Bilmore IM'd me and said that he thought PLF was the next witty poster to emulate. If only we'd had 20/20 foresight.

This article from the Houston Press sums up the reasons why I didn't see the Cure and Interpol while they were in Houston. I'd love to see both, but the hassle and expense just isn't worth it.

Edited to add:

But thanks for playing.*

reta: i should have spaced these posts further apart to avoid the implication of sockusations.
I believe I should go on the record now with several statements:

I am not Penske. Hillary is my Senator and I embrace her fully.

I am generally anti-mean people, but that does not mean that I am opposing to an occassional smoting.

I have no personal knowledge of whether or not penske is an "early riser" or not.

FWIW.

Yes.

Apropos of nothing, an informal bumper sticker poll of the cars in the Piggly-Wiggly parking lot shows a fair number of Kerry stickers, although the W 2004 ones predominate around here.

So what, you say? Well, I don't remember ever seeing a whole lot of Gore bumper stickers in Podunkville four years ago. In fact, the only one I remember was on a Volvo wagon with Vermont license places parked at the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Motion -- it was in the rear window alongside a "If You Want Peace, Work For Justice" and a "You Can't Hug A Child With Nuclear Arms." I think that it belonged to Father Rivera's sister Maria.

Gotcha. So you're a few years ahead on the "cool music guy" curve. What can I say. I never dug the new wave stuff.

I was initially going to be pendantic (hi NB!) and point out that the introductory pieces that appear at the front of a book are called "forewords," because I thought it was ironical (hi GWB!)that you had used the homonym in a post about a picky book about grammar and spelling. But then I thought you were maybe making a larger, meta-joke (hi Baudrillard!) in order to have a laugh, and so I added the second sentence (yes I know the three-word string that opened my post was not a sentence but you know what I'm sayin') to explain my revised thinking using a colloquial phrase from the British Isles which I find amusing for utterly unimportant reasons. So the answer is no. Sorry.

I was in an antique shopin Delaware last week and saw a vintage Nixon/Agnew bumper sticker. I almost bought it for my car, but was afraid it would fall apart too quickly. Unfortunately, my car fell apart this past weekend, so the bumper sticker likely would have outlived the car. It's almost ironic.

Excuse me, but "proactive" and "paradigm"? Aren't these just buzzwords that dumb people use to sound important? Not that I'm accusing you of anything like that.

He's so far ahead that the rest of the world will never catch up. Which is a good thing b/c I don't really want to know what the next new hip dj is "spinning".

Although I'm down with the plaid pants.

Oh, now I get it. Yes, it was a homonym error. The problem (actually they are many, but I won't go there now) is that most of my posts occur when I'm on the phone allegedly doing other things and my brain misfires when I'm multi-tasking.
