If you did something bad the night before, party can be used as a verb to provide a hint to the inquisitor to stop asking questions.
"Oh, fuck... I have no idea... we were partying pretty hard... its all hazy..."
Works much better than:
"John's brother Tim showed up with all this X and then Frank ordered a stripper at 3 am and I had to go looking for Bill, who freaked out and said he was going looking for that Asian massage parlor on Grant St. I think I fell down a flight of stairs somewhere during the night and Chrsit, my fucking teeth hurt."

Actually, I do know the answer to that one, because I happened to be in Utard early in his run when the newspaper was running profiles of him. When he found out he was chosen for the show, he memorized all kinds of stuff, like US Presidents and Vice Presidents, and everything he could find about mixed drinks (knowing that this could be a particular area of weakness for a lifetime Mo).
I wonder if his great success would make it more or less likely for me to be chosen as a contestant, in the event they're ever actually administering the test when I'm in LA.

When you are still active in your frat. For non-fratties, you just say, I had a lot to drink. Or, meh, nothing really happened.

But that doesn't thoroughly define what happened. "Party" encompasses all forms of partying, i.e., alcohol, drugs, hookers and beastiality porn.

Its just dumb lingo. To your boss you say, "meh, nothing reallyb happened" or "Red wine really gets to me." To a work friend who's cool or someone who's smart enough to spot the telltale signs of a long weekend out and is giving you shit on Mon morn, you just say "Oh, partied pretty hard..." and slink away. You give him a laugh and a leave him guessing. "Party" is a disclosure without any real disclosure. Sort of like answering a question about how a night with a lady went by saying "We hooked up a bit," which can mean just about anything depending on the inflection and smirk or lack thereof.

It's sufficient, but not necessary, and makes you sound like you are 19.* You could just say "had a lot to drink" or "was out a little late" which we all (well, maybe not you and coltrane) recognize as euphemisms.
*or you wish/think you were/are 19.

"Sparky the Wonder Dog."
That was limited to college, but I wish I'd kept a copy. I'll bet the same son of a bitch who stole my Cocksucker Blues* took that from the apartment.
* A must own. Contains the greatest idiot dialogue in history.

Seems to me that this might work as a board motto.

That may provide an excuse as to why you sound like you are 19. Hope you showered really well and have been drinking scope to hide your drunkenness from your bosses.

As Dre famously said, "That's the difference between you and me."
You only use the lingo with those who understand. And part of the fun is sounding 19, and sounding dumb. Its like a little dipshit secret handshake among screwheads like Coltrane and me. No deep irony, no clever self-congratulatory forced satire/sarcasm, no intllectual pretension... just a dumb little joke between folks with similar mindsets. You either are on the bus or off the bus on this one.

A night with a laydee? Is this how you kids talk?
As in "Hey, SD, how was your night with that pretty lady?"
Answer: "She was more of a fancy lady than a pretty lady. But we hooked up a bit".

Good job on using "me" correctly.

I had missed his use of lady. Thank you for pointing it out. I hate hate hate it when someone refers to a sexual/romantic interest as "lady." It is nauseatingly prevalent here in Texas. "My new girlfriend, she's a real classy lady."

More like "Hey SD, how was your night with that chick who had the great tits to waist ratio? Too bad she was a butterface. Didja get some? Man, you were soooo wasted."
