OK, I concede.

But I sort of like getting beat.

Butter is acceptable. However the bread will be so rich and tasty, that the butter will be unnecessary.

Thank god I switched over to this all carb diet.

There are these sorts of parties planned for every weekend until the end of May as far as I can tell. It's a good thing all my friends are lushes too.
Invite me over. I'll bring the candy underpants.

I have been known to butter croissants.

Cheese is not carb-y, missy.

The verb loan is one of the words English settlers brought to America and continued to use after it had died out in Britain. Its use was soon noticed by British visitors and somewhat later by the New England literati, who considered it a bit provincial. It was flatly declared wrong in 1870 by a popular commentator, who based his objection on etymology. A later scholar showed that the commentator was ignorant of Old English and thus unsound in his objection, but by then it was too late, as the condemnation had been picked up by many other commentators. Although a surprising number of critics still voice objections, loan is entirely standard as a verb. You should note that it is used only literally; lend is the verb used for figurative expressions, such as "lending a hand" or "lending enchantment."

I'm not sure where mine falls in the spectrum, so I guess I'll stand firm with it until directed to do otherwise. I do still miss gwnc's Kim Possible. Surely Atticus has that cached somewhere?

Is it just me, or is the line "Tiger Woods is a racist," evocative of the famous Repo Man line "John Wayne was a fag"?

Ahhhh, Repo Man. A great movie, but not a good movie.

How can I forget str8? I think you have the worst avatar on the boared. Its a hideous cartoon that does not convery your youness at all. How about a bulldog?

That's not Ed Norton, it's Tyler Durden's alter ego from Fight Club. And he's not flipping anyone off, he's holding up a bar of soap, which will be used to wash off the cooties if you ever get closer than arm's length to me.

I changed my mind. Str8's avatar should be James Lipton.

It tastes like asphalt.

Anyone have any plans?
I've got to make a presentation to the department then I hope to spend the afternoon at the bar around the corner drinking Guinness and watching basketball.

Guinness, if poured correctly, is very tasty. If not poured correctly, or if they are using CO2 and not nitrous as the gas, it will taste like shite.

Guinness is now owned by Diageo, the giantest alcholic drinks company in all of the land.

I didn't know Maggiano's was a chain until a year ago.

I'm with paigow on the inapplicability of it (and your stupid sig line). You are in no way, shape or form anyone who could ever be played by Edward Norton.

If you're ever in Boston I'd be happy to show you. Hey, people here have been known to drink Guinness for 8 hours.
