Hotel Rwanda was really good, though it was difficult to watch. The Aviator was better than I thought it would be, and I ended up liking a good deal. I've heard really good things about the Sea Inside, and I think I'm going to try and catch it before the Oscars. Also, Finding Neverland is still playing there (as of Tuesday night when I went to see Hotel Rwanda), and I've heard good things. The reviews of Bad Education haven't been overwhelming. Oh, yeah, and Million Dollar Baby is still there. That's another one that I have to see before the Oscars. I keep hearing about a twist at the end, but so far I'm still unspoiled.

Speaking of Oscars, it sounds like the River Oaks theater is going to do their annual Oscar party again this year. Usually it's hosted by the Gay and Lesbian Film Festival, and it's a lot of fun. They project the awards on the big screen, serve food from Bira Porreti's next door, have a cash bar, and everyone dresses up for the big event. During the commercials they have trivia contests (which is how I got my 13 inch John Holmes ruler last year) and costume contests.

Nah. It's whatever you wanna wear. Some of the folks from the Gay and Lesbian Film Festival come in drag, though.

Oh, btw, the Aviator is really long. I had no idea when I went to see it what kind of time commitment I was making. It was good, but nearly 3 hours.

This email makes me all warm and fuzzy:

____

Dear Rangers Fans:

We are extremely disappointed that a resolution could not be reached between the National Hockey League and the National Hockey League Players Association in order to save the 2004-05 hockey season. This is a difficult time for all of us who love this sport and, in particular, for all of us who have a passion for the New York Rangers.

We are confident that when the NHL resumes play, both the League and the Rangers will be poised for long-term success. Though no games are being played, we continue to build an organization from within that we believe will represent you and our city - hard working, accountable and successful. We are committed to our rebuilding plan and the future of the organization is bright.

As a Rangers fan, you are a member of a very treasured family whose loyalty and dedication has always been second to none. You are part of a 78-year old hockey legacy. We are proud of that family, proud of that legacy and we thank you for remaining with us through this time of uncertainty.

Sincerely,

Steve Mills
President and Chief Operating Officer
Madison Square Garden Sports

Glen Sather
President and General Manager
New York Rangers

Damn, Burger. Kick a man while he's down, why don't you. Str8's got things kinda tough to begin with. He's Canadian, so he has an inherent sense of inferiority, worsened by Coors' acquisition of Molson. I get the impression that Ms. Tomato is withholding the Basil, iykwim (aityd), the hockey season is cancelled, and he has to sling Sting tickets to make up for his mounting gambling losses brought on by rash arrogance. Find a better target, you sick fuck. One that can stand up for himself.

Str8 responds: I took a bath on Sting and am out of the Sting business. I'm selling U2 and the Killers pretty successfully right now, but only for shows around the LA area. I made decent money on Interpol and am going tonight; I'll give a full report tomorrow.

As far as gambling goes, the Pats win helped make up a bit for what was a disastrous gambling playoffs (thanks Nate Kaeding). I am currently in a no-gambling stretch. I hope to keep it that way, especially since I am about to undertake a big remodel of the str8 house before the str8 baby comes in August.

And pregancy sex or no-sex is none of y'alls business.

Finally, I think it's so funny that the Mrs. is referred to here as Mrs. Tomato Basil, especially since the other ways in which I've described her (including posting a link to a video in which she appeared in her nickname-worthy professional capacity) are much more in keeping with the style of this board. But perhaps that's the beauty of it, it's certainly organic.

How, pray tell, did you get those U2 tickets?

The only tihng I remember about your wife is that you bickered with her over tomato basil soup and posted here for advice in what I think I pronoucned the most boring post ever and then named her Tomato Basil (hi TM!). I don't remember everytiing aobut everyone, and i certainly don't memorize things like I am taking a social studies exam, but when someone posts something embarrassing, absurd or ridiculous about their SO , it sticks and I nickname em (Right Sequels and Mrs Rimmer?)

I have no idea what your wife does for a living

If your wife is still working at the place she was working where the video was shot, I was at their website last night and ordered a few things. I'm looking forward to seeing how they work out.
