Here's what I don't understand: Why do people care that most Americans don't like soccer?
Who gives a shit? It can't be because the games are low scoring. I love tight football games with great defense. And I think nothing is more exciting than a playoff baseball game that is tied 0-0 or 1-1 going into extra innings. So, lack of scoring isn't the problem. And really, when people say Americans don't appreciate it, it's shorthand for saying we have short attention spans and need lots and lots of scoring.
I just don't give a shit if you're really good at kicking a ball and running really fast. It's not the type of skill that a superior athlete can impress me with. Sometimes it's fun to watch, usually it's not.
I'm sure the majority of the world feels the same about baseball. I don't look think less of them because of it.
