I’ve found in some instances just getting back on the horse forces the body to self repair. Brace helps too. Feels like cheating. But then, all short modern skis are kinda cheating.

Bindings are cheating too! Just use rope to attach your feet to a couple of rough hewn planks. And hike up. Earn your turns for godsake.
