Did he start drinking after the deal was sealed? If not, I could see getting hammered without meaning to under those conditions. Start out in a bar talking up the experience. Order drinks as a social lubricant, and keep them coming so no one chickens out. Miss the fact that the women aren't drinking as much and/or rationalize that they're lightweights. Order more drinks in celebration of deal sealed. Realize that holy shit, he's about to do a threesome, and order another drink. And so on.

I disagree, and you make assumptions and show your ignorance by the same. Perhaps, all knowing one, what you are not accounting for is that I have had these discussions with my wife a few thousand times over my current relationship's life. Perhaps we have both examined our thoughts and feelings on the subject and are confident in those. In fact, on hypothetical, perhaps I have already said, "if we do a threesome, I might not even want you there at some point" and perhaps she responded, "maybe we won't want you there".

But then you probably more about my relationships than I do.
