This is the part of the question where you fucked up. The Yankees and the Red Sox, even assuming all three teams wound up with identical records, would not play each other in a playoff. The tie-breaker would determine the champion of the Eastern Division. The only way the Yankees might play a one-game playoff with anybody is if they had lost yesterday and today to the Red Sox.

And this is rich, coming from perhaps the most condescending individual on the board (the Snidely sock notwithstanding.) Only most of the time, I'm not under the impression that you are joking.

The fact that you blame your total miss on my unclearness is rebutted by the likes of both Hank and str8 getting it. Sounds like someone went to Case Western. I hope you didnt spen the 65 bucks on the Yale applcation. You would have better luck if PETA got baseball parks to stop serving hot pigs.

They win the division. If the Red Sox and Cleveland then end up tied, the next question should be: What is Boston's h2h record against Cleveland? If they have a better record, they should win the wild card. If all three teams have the same record at the end of the season, then the team with the best h2h record against the other team in its division, should win the division and the team with the best h2h record out of the remaining two should win the wildcard.

Right now, if they all would have finished with the same record, the h2h records mean nothing and the Yankees play the Sox in a playoff for the division title and the loser plays the Indians for the Wildcard? That's retarded.

I prefer the way they did it before the wildcard, though. If you are tied (Wildcard or Division Champs), you are tied and should play a one game playoff.
