Ironweed, the Knicks are relevant- always have been.

I wish the Knicks would start challenging. Games in the Garden that meant something would be great. I would love to scalp Game 6 tix for a Pistons- Knicks (or Boston Celtics) series.

go to Indy or Miami- no thanks (Miami for the game- I'm sure its a great city).

The Garden is about the best place I've seen a pro game, and the fans all seem into and knowledgable about the game. I saw a late season Knicks/Nets game* where everyone stayed in their seats and watched the game. I got up to check out concessions in the 3rd quarter and there was hardly anyone in the concourse- all the fans were actually fans and were watching the game. Contrast to a few weeks later, NBA finals game at the Palace, the concourse is full of people thoughout the game.

Maybe sucess brings lesser fans into the Palace, but I was impressed by the Garden crowd.

Oh, plus I'd like to see Isiah be sucessful and run into Dumars' team each year.

*that is to say- a meaningless game

With Crawford, Marbury, Curry, Richardson and various interchangeable power forwards (and a bunch of shooting guards), as well as the addition of Larry Brown, the Knicks are relevant right now.

I think it's pretty common knowledge that I'm a geek and revel in things geeky.

I thought it was cool when a Princess in Norway admitted that her kid, Leah, was named after a Star Wars character. I had no problem at all when my friend named her kid Logan, in part after an X-Men character. (His long fingers helped his parents make that decision.) I even thought it was kinda cool that Kevin Smith named his kid Harley Quinn after a Batman character.

However, there are limits to geekdom.

Nicholas Cage does not understand those limits. That poor, poor child.

Now, now. I'm sure it'll take a couple of years of coddling and berating of nannies to generate that much of a sense of entitlement.

Even if the father has demonstrated profound stupidity in saddling the son with such a poor name, let's give the tot a couple of years to grow into a Hilton or Marriott sense of privilege before we award the "spoiled brat" moniker.
