The fact that in Slave's case it rises to the level of statistical evidence does not make this a worthwhile enterprise.
That was before.

Big Bad Slave is Sweet Slavey now.

I don't mean to embarrass you - I suspect this can be a sore point - but I watched the Super Bowl, and I saw that they have pills for this problem now.

This really does go far in explaining the "other guy" problem you're having.

I must have misunderstood something you said on the Politics Board, but I thought you preferred to talk with people who haven't actually read about the subject in question. My bad.

Sorry. Hank told me I had to flatter the mod. But I still do like your posts, anyway. Really.

Ohhh yeeeahhh... I meant to mention this earlier, but this morning, at band camp -- uh, I mean trapeze class, the oddest assortment of people so far were my classmates (I know -- odd people at a trapeze class -- what are the odds?). Three of them had appeared on Reality TV shows. One was on The Apprentice, one was on Average Joe, and one was on something else that I can't remember. Oh, and there was also a jeweler there, and a "tumbler" (whatever that is) too. And me.
Which Apprentice guy? Was it crazy Sam? The fat whose name I forget? Dreamy Jason? Cmon, dish dish.

Since nobody's taking anyone up about last night's WB Superstar, I'll recap.

The show was basically one live performance with choreographed dancing from each of the 4 remaining superstars. They showed lots of rehearsal clips, along with them being faux-interviewed by Extra (whose blonde host didn't seem to be in on the joke).

They also showed the contestants being given a taste of the superstar life by showing them mansions and fabulous cars. In the funniest thing I've ever seen in my life this week, Rosa, in touring the mansion, starts asking questions about the plumbing and electrical, LIKE SHE THINKS SHE'S ACTUALLY GETTING THE HOUSE, even though it's clear that they're just being shown these things as examples of the lives superstars lead. Similarly, she starts asking about the possibility that Ferraris come in automatic!! LIKE SHE THINKS SHE'S GETTING THE CAR.

Anyways, they sang. Mario sang "The Sweetest Sin," by Jessica Simpson. He was chastised for getting too fresh with the backup dancers. His singing was very very poor.

Rosa sang Genie in a Bottle. Her grasp on the lyrics and the melody was tenuous, at best. She is a very very very poor singer.

Jo-Jo sang Crazy in Love. He actually did a passably not-horrible job. He incorporated his signature Axl Rose-type-slither move into the choreography. Good times.

Finally, Jamie (bring back the avatar) sang a Celine Dion song (I forget which one). She started off ok, and then when it came time to go up an octave, I almost peed my pants. Funniest thing since Rosa's shopping trip.

I haven't read the Corrections or anything else by Franzen. But I like his writing style and his rejection of that uber narcicisst Oh-Oh-Oh just shut the hell up already Winfrey.
When The Corrections came out, there was a profile of Franzen in the New York Times Magazine (believe this was a week or two before 9/11, so his publicity kinda fizzled) that revealed him to be a pretentious striver. I didn't hate The Corrections, but it certainly left me with a sense that Franzen is too impressed with himself, at least by half. It would be wonderful if he had really meant to reject Oprah, but almost certainly he just made the mistake of sharing what he was really thinking -- a dangerous move, judging from the NYTM profile. Not that I'm crying for Oprah or anything.

That piece about his father's Alzheimer's was in The New Yorker right before 9/11, too, and I thought it was very good.

No, it was a chick. And either I never got her name, or promptly forgot it after learning it. She was lame too (and I don't mean she had a hurt leg). She kept saying she didn't want to do the trapeze swings when it was her turn, because it made her dizzy -- and after proclaiming that she was a gymnast as a kid (so why did you sign up for the freakin' class, Einstein?)

Excuse me, but "proactive" and "paradigm"? Aren't these just buzzwords that dumb people use to sound important? Not that I'm accusing you of anything like that.

So ladies, am I?
Oral sex is not sex and does not count for one-night-stand status. Oral sex one nighter is what the high-schoolers do, right Coltrane? It's random sex or nothing to qualify.

If that kind of problem could be cured by a blow job, you wouldn't need your prescription to Viagara, now would you?

At least, that's been my experience with your wife.

You shouldn't have responded if this was the best you were going to come back with. Those knuckle prints from the bitch slap fade yet?
