Turn left, keep going until you hit the Pacific. Turn north. Keep going until you are no where. Now keep going until you're almost some where. Now you're there.

Getting Naked: Writing the Emotional Truth of Erotic Scenes

    Lisa Palac

Lisa Palac has been writing about and discussing sexuality for sixteen years. "I believe that honesty encourages honesty," she says. "Telling the truth about sex—the most intimate, contradiction-filled, hard-to-be-honest-about subject of them all—has given me the courage to face the rest of my life as honestly as I can."

In this workshop—for both men and women, beginning and experienced writers—you will find the inspiration to write more honestly. Whether you're working on a screenplay, novel, memoir, or simply writing for self-discovery and personal transformation, this workshop provides a process for crafting powerful sexual narratives. By examining your own personal erotic development, you'll discover how to create compelling erotic lives for characters in any genre. The atmosphere is supportive, thought-provoking, and fun. Through writing and candid group discussion, you will learn:

To harness the creativity of your sexual shadow self

How to overcome vulnerability and self-doubt

The courage to speak the unspeakable

A new level of skill and comfort using explicit language

A greater understanding of story structure and character
Ultimately, writers learn to capture the emotional truth of any sexual situation—"What do we really want? What are we afraid of? What were we thinking?"—adding texture and essential depth to their work. This workshop precedes Valentine's Day and is a wonderful experience for lovers to share.
I'll save my money and just watch the workshop on Real Sex.

Or to put it in terms you can find on a map: A little bit south of Carmel, California on Rt. 1.

It's all about winning.
Will the Sox now pay the mediocre Clement 9 mil a year to take his place?

Or will Theo miraculously pull Tim Hudson out of his ass.

Tonight, on Sportscenter, after the game.

I'm festive, so it's more like a moon and a half.

Or were we not discussing ass-fucking?

So anyway, I just left it there, but now it's grown quite a bit. It's now about the size of a kiwi (the fruit -- not someone from NZ), and it's pretty revolting to look at.
Take your dog out to the barn and blow its brains out with a shotgun. Much better than having to put it to sleep. Cheaper too.

How much do you pay your barn managers a month?

Yes, that's what Pedro did to the Red Sox.

The whole team? That's hot. Nice to know baseball is open to the gay thing.

I get bored with the time-space continuum thing. Call me simple, but I like my flicks to proceed sequentially. I can dig flash forwards like those in Easy Rider, but following a cat running around in the recesses of his mind doesn't do it for me. I got the deeper philosophical point, and it was artfully done as far as flicks go (why they had to make everyone look homeless and bedraggled I don't get, but Kaufman seems to like that imagery), but once that point is made early, where else do I go? I just sit for another hour and wait for the end.

Your last sexist generalization is unfair, as though I've never loved and lost. Actually... I have never loved and lost. There was only one chick who really burned me once. OK, maybe two. Yes, it was two. Maybe my inability to appreciate emotional loss in relationships hobbles my ability to get Chucky K's flicks. I'll update you after I fuck up my marriage. Jesus, did I just say that? That better not happen. They'd find me dead in Costa Rica with a pile of festering sores on my privates and a distended liver.

I watched Before Sunset on Sat nite with the wife. We both agreed that its overrated. That one is very sequential, and very boring. Its just watching "prelude to a fuck" for an hour and a half. That franshise was phoned in from the start.
Your posts read like a Kaufman flick.

We've done this before, but you must have been working that day.

I'd recommend a rifle rather than a shotgun, and you want to shot point blank just behind the ear. The shotgun can be very messy and not final, and you really don't want the dog looking at you while you do it. Bring a nice steak with you, tie the dog up, and take it out while it's focused on the steak.

I do cry at movies.

Have you ever seen the one where the Indian aligns people's "shakras". Jesus, if you were even a bit horny beforehand, the sight of that much middle aged hippy skin and disturbingly hirsute (I mean, it looked like half the participants were learning how to put skunks in leg locks) people killed any sexual urge you might have had.

His use of "franshise" should have tipped you off that he is totally wasted.

I vote we take him out to the barn, tie him up, put a nice steak in front of him . . .
