Well, whoever told you that is lying through their dirty, chipped teeth. And another thing, everyone talks about all the shopping in LA -- fancy boutiques this, lacy underthings that -- but when I get there, what do they have? Books, T-shirts and neck pillows as far as the eye can see. High class? I don't think so.

No. I said I hiked Camelback. And I mentioned the wonderful weather.

It's much less annoying when it's clearly a typo rather than something that raises the "does she just not know the right word?" question.

I now picture spooky with flipper arms.

It's very Casablanca, yes.

Sadly, Weed apparently thought this meant you should actually eat and drink something there.

That said, if you drive out about twenty miles, you are in eithe rmuch cooler Scottsdale with front lawns full of cactii which is kinda cool or in some "resort/retirement community" with a teepee theme.

But this isnt too say Arizona totally sucks. Prescott is a nifty little town and Flagstaff is very nice indeed. its just the post Pynchonian urbanites that ruin everything with their aesthetics of derivation. Theya re the NFH of urban planning.

Paigow, a little hint for you....if you limit your online dating searches to within 25 miles of your home zipcode, you won't have to travel to such gawdawful places.

Excuse me, but "proactive" and "paradigm"? Aren't these just buzzwords that dumb people use to sound important? Not that I'm accusing you of anything like that.

So, the airport bar is better than the airport restaurant? Huh.

Did they at least sell underwear?

BTW, and seriously, what is with the lingerie in airport stores? I have been noticing this recently. No, alas, I do not recall exactly which airports.

Actually, I was mostly in Scottsdale. I could the see the Crate & Barrel when I looked up from my $35 filet. They could have priced it at $25, but the marketing team said that that wouldn't draw the crowd they were trying to exploit.

Chicago, as a city, is insecure. But only about NYC.
You shouldn't be. You guys have a nice little city.

I always thought it was called "The Capital District." Besides, Albany? Please. Everyone knows that all the cool underage Skidmore kids drink Stanwix beer at the VFW in Troy.

I think any place with cheap land is going to have the same asshole builders out there putting together cheap mini-mansion complexes and strip malls. Some communities are just stuck with them.
