Do I think we have been moderately sucessful, given that we have only been in their for 15 months. Yes.
Do I think there have been some serious fuck ups along the way? Absolutely, even more than can be reasonably expected in an endeavor like this.
Is there still a whole lot of work to do? Yes.
Is success guaranteed? No.
Do I think Iraq will be viewed as a success 10 years from now? Probably.
Will it be an American style democracy? NFW.
Will it be a better place for the Iraqis than it was before our invasion? Yes
Will it have an effect on the ME as a whole, and thus our security? Yes
