You don't know what you are talking about. Defining marriage as between one man and one woman isn't anti-gay. It is anti-polygamy.

I do think that the people of Kaleeforneeia get screwed by the electoral college and by the 2 senators per state thing.
Secession of the coasts is a serious topic in my office. How to do it? I volunteer to draw up a plan.

I think it would be more informative to color code the states based on whether a majority of their senators and congresspeople were dems or reps. It is, afterall, Congress that has the taxing and spending power.

Anyone who has read this board for any period of time reads the premise of your first sentence as an admission that you do not.

But I'm not the fool.

Yes "Osama said," not to influence, but to scare. There are big cities in red states. There are power plants. There are football stadiums with 80000+ people in them. To think there are no targets there, and to think terrorists would want people in 95% of the land mass to feel safe is the foolish thought conveyed on the subject.

Please don't leave me out of this. If you guys ditch me, Sarte will have to re-write "No Exit" with me as its central hell citizen.

Sincerely,

Now that this Kerry boil has been lanced, rather than become complacent in victory, I think it is of the utmost importance for the fiscal conservatives in the GOP to speak up and force this Administration to get in line.

I think we propose to include the Upper Midwest. Our message to Ohio, Illinois, Iowa et al.: If you don't come with us, you're going to have to stay with those guys.

Hmmmmn. How about redneck?

It's not an argument; I'm not trying to convince anyone. It's a viewpoint.

I expect I'll shortly come across your post where you make a similar point to Not It about how "welfare moms" is code for "urban, poor, black women" and similarly distasteful.

It seems to me that this kind of stuff is totally massageable, and that the "north-east/mid-west coalition for economic equality" is going to be seizing on numbers that make it look like they get screwed, and minimizing the effects of stuff that helps them/hurts non-ne/mw places.

I'm not saying it's totally off the mark, I'm just saying I bet you could come up with reasonable-sounding methodologies, using the same sources, that would produce totally different results.

Come on, Slave -- just as the "effete liberals" don't make the difference for dems, neither do the "rich and Big Oil" make the difference for reps. They're just too small a part of the respective parties to make the difference.

But you knew that.
