Further to my earlier quotation of William Saletan,
this piece of his in Slate today is very good. Democrats need to think of their agenda and mission in terms of values, not policies, instead of thinking of values as the window-dressing for policy. Voters who read the New York Times carefully can focus on policy details. For the rest of us, it all has to fit into a simpler, coherent message.
