So everytime I make a comment I need to analyse the power situation between the person that is the object of my comment and other members of the society they occupy and adjust my language accordingly? It is this type of justification to oversensitivity that has caused such a huge backlash against political correctness. The end result is that being called Politcaly Correct, or part of the PC police, is almost as insulting as being called a racist and definitely more insulting than being called sexist. The backlash to this oversensitivity has given comfort and ammunition to the racists and I find that 'irksome".

This is pretty ridiculous. I'm not talking about you, I'm talking about the President and the Prince of Darkness.
And you know what, yes -- you too should try to refrain from making public comments that could be considered demeaning. If you don't, you might get criticized. Some of that criticism might be warranted in the mind of a reasonable person, some might not. Opinions will vary. But if you can't handle the criticism or adjust your comments after making a judgment about its validity, maybe it is you who is "oversensitive."
